Sleepy Rehearsal
Tonight's rehearsal was tiring. Tiring mainly because I felt sleepy.
No music really makes a vast difference. We lost momentum and there's a lack of motivation in the air. (LOL)
Guess everyone was tired after a hard day of work.
Our "Lv Dongbin Vs Bai Mudan" needs some more practice. We need to tie in the movements with the music.
Less than 2 weeks, we are going to perform this excerpt...
What a scary thought!
We reinforced our Scene 6. Some movements have been added and hope that this time round, we would remember. ^^
I think I sprained my neck and somehow my jaw is also affected. It hurts abit.

Fahrenheit Is HOT!!!
Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!
But it is TRUE!!!!!!!
Fahrenheit is indeed very HOT and anything related to them in terms of magazines, souvenirs, pictorial books etc have been snapped up by fans.
I was told by a shop proprietor that I have been late in collecting Fahrenheit's goods. (LOL)
Anyway, I am not going to compete against crazy collectors though I am also not a sane one. (LOL)
If there is a chance and it happens to be on my side, I just grab it...why not? ^^
One of these days, let have a game of Fahrenheit's poker...BUT NO SWEATY PALMS PLS!!!

TW, XM Or ZZ Accents???
Recently there is a little issue on which accents to use in our Xiangju.
Well, we all have different accents and it is not that easy to make it uniform across the board.
By default, Xiangju uses a lot of ZZ accents. In a way, we became influenced via its audio-visual materials and composition of its music scripts.
Even if you use XM or TW accents, I think should be fine as long as you make yourself heard and comprehendable.
The TOPs are pro ZZ whereas quite a few of us are pro TW.
As for me, I am CONFUSED! (LOL)
TOP picked on XJ's TW's accented way of singing and remarked that both she and I use ZZ accents instead.

TMY's Phantom Of The Opera (GZX Version)
I saw this DVD in TW last year during Art Fest 06. K wanted to buy initially but the price was a bit steep. I was told that this show was good.
But I wasn't that sure about it. The storyline is taken from "Phantom of the Opera". I have seen TMY's earlier version and I didn't quite like it.
The next thing that I saw that the main female cast was played by LLQ. I became even doubtful of this show. I don't think LLQ can be better than XXN. She may be much younger however she is still very "raw" in many areas.
She is by default pretty but she doesn't shine when she puts on opera makeup. She lacks the classic traditional looks.
Her voice quality is a bit odd and weak. I don't like her way of singing. She simply has no GZX taste in her singing.
Too skinny, too frail, hence could not bring out her presence on stage.
Once again I feel a little disappointed with TMY. She can be better. But from her eyes, I can tell that she has not put in enough concentration and focus in this role. It is such a waste.
TMY shone better as a 2nd sheng in earlier productions. Even when she was in Holo Opera troupe during her early days, she was much better.
In comparison, XYF's "Guai Pian Ji" or we nicknamed as the "Con Show" is more entertaining than TMY's.
I wouldn't say that XYF's show is flawless. There are some areas that are head-shaking...(LOL)
However the cast in XYF's show is much stronger than the ones in TMY's.
One very good pointer was that quite a handful of XYF's cast could sing well. The music is better than TMY's as the latter used too much orchestra background which somehow dilute the taste of GZX.
ML complained that the background music made her want to sleep.

Red Marks & Rashes
Developed red marks across my face, nose and lips on Friday night. I didn't realise till K asked me why my nose was so red. ML told me that I must call up my DOC to ask for the reason.
I dismissed it because when I woke up on Saturday, the red marks were gone and I felt quite okie. I took my medicine and was fine.
Last night I took my medicine again and then developed the same symptoms just like Friday. I showed them to my mum and mum said that I better don't continue with my medicine. There is a need to bring the medicine to my DOC to find out which one caused the marks. In addition, my skin started to itch in the morning which it didn't happen on the night when I first developed the marks.
I tossed and turned last night...couldn't get to sleep...I don't know why...
I drank so much water that I had to go to the toilet here and then......How to sleep well in this state of condition?

It Is So Unfair!!!
I had a very awful day last night.
I felt tired, was it due to the medicine that I had taken that made me feel listless?
My dad took my car to visit relatives in Malaysia together with my brother and his wife.
Why didn't my brother use his super duper sports car? He didn't want to because he said that his car would become heavier if our parents were to sit at the back and his car's interior would touch the road bumps.
Can you believe that? He actually values a metal more than his parents!!!
Dad fished out 40 bucks and gave it to me. OMG, I didn't want to take but Dad insisted. He wanted me to take a cab to KH. I am not going to use the money!!! Dad needs them more than me!
I wanted to go KH earlier so as to support XJ in her "Bai Mudan" but I decided to wait for them to come back as I was not able to take so many things to KH alone. So I used the afternoon to revise my script as memorising lines isn't my strength.
In fact, XJ ever mentioned that amongst the shengs that she has co-operated with, I forgot the most lines and this made her feel unsecure.
So I must try harder to memorise. I don't want to be "discarded" in the future.
We had dinner at KH but I just had no appetite. I ate very little. I didn't know why. I felt so tired and listless. Did I take the wrong type of medicine? There were two types, one for non-drowsy and one was the drowsy type.
We watched "Lv Dongbin & Bai Mudan" after dinner. I had forgotten most of my role's actions. Hope to recapture them back as we are going to rehearse in the afternoon next day.
We didn't meet our schedule for the night as not all were present for the rehearsal. I was glad that I was able to sing though not as well due to my cough. At least I could sing and did not affect the rehearsal's progress.
I still forgot lines......sighz.......though not so much as before......but I still forgot lines......
My watersleeves sucks......But I'm trying...give me time to try... Relatively, I don't really do a good job as a dan. I have problems with the watersleeves...I can't even seem to control the sleeves well enough to do it in the right and proper way.
I think Leader and XJ must be shaking their heads in their minds. (LOL)
I just had no feel for playing opposite to the TOP. In this show we are supposed to act as a pair but I just feel clueless, pairless, awkward and distant......
The rehearsal ended late. Leader said that we didn't have to work on Sundays so it should be fine to rehearse later than usual.
ML called and called. She got irritated. But she's so funny. She could just step into KH and wait. Isn't she one of the KHers?
I even brought along the laptop for her so that she could kill her time in KH.
Time wasn't on my side. I couldn't ask to go off earlier. I could only let ML wait.
I don't know why I must stomach all kinds of NONSENSE?
I love my opera and I want to give it my best. But I don't believe in sitting on the fence and good stuff would just fall onto my head from the sky. I earn my opera via my hardwork and passion.
I love my parents but they sometimes stress me so much. They don't support me in my opera, they tried all means to deter me from my opera. They used words to make me feel bad and useless at times. They made me pay for the house (partially), "carpark" , the maid and other expenses. that's why I sometimes sell away my favourite chinese opera and takarazuka stuff when I have a tight budget.
Love my brothers? I can't really say the same thing...... We are better than strangers but worse than siblings in a way.
I like my friends. I placed importance in my friends. Sometimes their words may not mean anything but I do take it to heart. I would try to improve myself somehow, just like my weakness in remembering lines.
Amongst friends, ML treats me the best but sometimes she makes me feel frustrated. I know she cares for me. But she can be so...so...ironical...I don't know why.
She hates the way KH treats me unfairly but at the same time she doesn't want me to spend too much time in KH because I am not feeling well.
Wanting me to quit KH isn't possible now. No one can make me quit opera except MYSELF.
ML isn't an actress. That's why she is not able to understand how we feel. There isn't much time left and we value every rehearsal because we don't want to be spoilers in our shows. We don't go up the stage just for fun. We have to be responsible not towards ourselves but also to our audience.
I should have taken a cab home last night.
Everyone seems to blame me for things that I feel strongly that I am not totally at fault.
I cried myself to sleep last night. I got blamed but why didn't they think a little more deeper. They are adding hurt in me without knowing it.
It is so unfair......Not all these just happened last night. Quite a handful has been built up over the time.
You should be amazed how much I have tolerated.
If not for my passion and feelings towards my opera, family and friends, I would not go this far.
But I am struggling...and I don't know how long I can go on.
If it comes to a day that I need to shut my heart out to people and things, it is possible.
Maybe it may be the right remedy for me......

Secret Love At Peach Blossom Land
ML, K, XJ, BBQ, SY and I went for the show at Esplanade.
It was very very NICE!
But I don't understand why my Leader who watched the show in TW last year said that it wasn't nice. Not only that, she also didn't really like most of the shows in Sept 06 TW Art Fest. (LOL)
Anyway, we just don't click.. Our thinkings are really vast apart.
CZX sang so well!!!!!!!!!
CSZ and his wife acted well too.
Though "Secret Love" isn't purely a GZX show, yet we got to see some very interesting and hilarious segments. So far it is a better GZX at this time of the year that I have ever watched. Money spent is worth.
In comparision, the GZX at gcb ......
令人看了汗颜无助，倒像“走秀”多一些~~~~~~(爆）

Helping and Promoting Chinese Opera
I read this article from one of AC's blogs- House of the Flying Sleeves. I thought it would be essential to post it up here for my readers to read, especially Chinese Opera lovers.
Thau Yong Musical Association is one of a local amatuer Teochew group and they have been functioning for more than half a century.

this is Javier from Thau Yong Musical Association. I'm currentlycalling for new members to join in the society. I'm even willing tosponsor for your one year membership. For what reason, you say?
Because I'm close to dying (metaphorically and indirectly literally).I cannot be the only person, the only drop of new blood, pushing forthe survival of this 76 year old body.
I need help. I'm presently jammed in a situation where the society is 100% dependant on me alone. They are unable to propose for funding in English; they are unable to provide me with accounts in English; they are unable to think of new ideas to attract more new blood; they do not know how to use the computer to scan and protect the close to decomposing photos and music scores from long before the pre-war days;they only know the black vinyl disc player is going to die on us soon, and they will not be able to hear those tracks very soon.
If nobody come forth to help, and I collapse & or give up, thissociety will die, as the present members slowly wither into ashes.
The Han Music section members, their median age is 70.
The Teochew Music section members, we are the last complete group in Singapore and all of them have senior citizen concession passes.
The Teochew Opera section is more active, but the truth is not everybody has the gift for the stage.
Please do not be resistant of the idea because you say you do not understand the language. For your information, teochew opera isperformed in wen yan wen (similar to Shakespearean language) andproper Teochew (we speak in informal slang in Singapore, best e.g. Nang ker jiack lor ti. Lor ti or Roti is MALAY. Bread in proper Teochew is not even the characters we are familiar in Chinese - MianBao. The correct phrase is Mi Bao (or rice buns).
All those aunties and uncles who watch Teochew opera, do you thinkthey know wen yan wen? As a degree holder in Public Relations, I cannot even understand Shakesphere! But they watch and theyunderstand,because there is hand language and the music! The music is lovely... of the 300 Chinese operas in mainland China, it is the onlyopera that created their own drum genre of music out of opera. The teochew music is always so gently tragic, slowly seeping into thesouls... They appreciate and love it because this was their onlyentertainment when they were young, in short this is their culture.Where did they live when they were young, may I ask?
Singapore, my dears. This is our culture. Why do people say there is none?
But if everybody is ignoring me now, in my desperate plea, anotherpart of our history and culture will die. Because I cannot carry this burden of the hundreds who have lived and died for Thau Yong in herglorious 75 years by myself...
This is my own opinion and my own plea; the society did not ask me todo this or even know about this. If you want to laugh or gossip, please target it to me, because I can see what is going to happen, even though many are blissfully or maybe purposely ignorant ofthe dark pit they are encircling into, as they slowly step into their inevitable paths of no return...
Even if you cannot be bothered, please spare just 3 seconds to somebody, you think that may care.

Burnt out? Yes I do agree. In KH, we are not only actors but also backstage crew, financial assistance, web editor, graphi designers, wardrobe and hair specialists, public relation officers, Internet ambassador, fund collector, hairdresser, image consultants, subtitles coordinator, cooks, IT assistant, video and camera photographers, seamtresses and the list goes on.
Exhausting... But perhaps our situation at KH is slightly more better as we do have some young and responsible people in our troupe. Not to forget, PASSIONATE people.
I think I shall drop an encouraging message to Javier. Hope that it will also lift up his spirits.
Not only Teochew opera needs new blood, the other genres too need new blood.
Calling out to those Chinese Opera lovers, if you have interest to learn Chinese Opera, please step out and join. You will learn to find that Chinese opera is not as boring as you think it is. It can be very exciting and fun. In addition, you are also promoting Chinese culture.
Chinese Opera is one of Chinese's most valuable roots. We can try to do our little part in some ways or others.

The Teochew Opera section is more active, but the truth is not everybody has the gift for the stage.
Please do not be resistant of the idea because you say you do not understand the language. For your information, teochew opera isperformed in wen yan wen (similar to Shakespearean language) andproper Teochew (we speak in informal slang in Singapore, best e.g. Nang ker jiack lor ti. Lor ti or Roti is MALAY. Bread in proper Teochew is not even the characters we are familiar in Chinese - MianBao. The correct phrase is Mi Bao (or rice buns).
All those aunties and uncles who watch Teochew opera, do you thinkthey know wen yan wen? As a degree holder in Public Relations, I cannot even understand Shakesphere! But they watch and theyunderstand,because there is hand language and the music! The music is lovely... of the 300 Chinese operas in mainland China, it is the onlyopera that created their own drum genre of music out of opera. The teochew music is always so gently tragic, slowly seeping into thesouls... They appreciate and love it because this was their onlyentertainment when they were young, in short this is their culture.Where did they live when they were young, may I ask?
Singapore, my dears. This is our culture. Why do people say there is none?
But if everybody is ignoring me now, in my desperate plea, anotherpart of our history and culture will die. Because I cannot carry this burden of the hundreds who have lived and died for Thau Yong in herglorious 75 years by myself...
This is my own opinion and my own plea; the society did not ask me todo this or even know about this. If you want to laugh or gossip, please target it to me, because I can see what is going to happen, even though many are blissfully or maybe purposely ignorant ofthe dark pit they are encircling into, as they slowly step into their inevitable paths of no return...
Even if you cannot be bothered, please spare just 3 seconds to somebody, you think that may care.

Burnt out? Yes I do agree. In KH, we are not only actors but also backstage crew, financial assistance, web editor, graphi designers, wardrobe and hair specialists, public relation officers, Internet ambassador, fund collector, hairdresser, image consultants, subtitles coordinator, cooks, IT assistant, video and camera photographers, seamtresses and the list goes on.
Exhausting... But perhaps our situation at KH is slightly more better as we do have some young and responsible people in our troupe. Not to forget, PASSIONATE people.
I think I shall drop an encouraging message to Javier. Hope that it will also lift up his spirits.
Not only Teochew opera needs new blood, the other genres too need new blood.
Calling out to those Chinese Opera lovers, if you have interest to learn Chinese Opera, please step out and join. You will learn to find that Chinese opera is not as boring as you think it is. It can be very exciting and fun. In addition, you are also promoting Chinese culture.
Chinese Opera is one of Chinese's most valuable roots. We can try to do our little part in some ways or others.

SYR's Singing Cum KH's rehearsals
SYR sang GZX to us over QQ. Wow...she can sing GZX so well. In fact she sings better than any of us. I think she can pass to sing GZX in TW. ^^
So nice, how I wish I can also sing as well as her. ^^
Well, at least I have to wait for my cough to subside......
Saturday is the start of our KH's series of rehearsals... GRrr...............
XJ has to learn her "Bai Mu Dan". She is going to partner with the TOP in this show.
As for me... same old destiny... A pageboy to the TOP. GRrr...............
But TOP will never be a pageboy to me, NEVER......The combination would look odd.
Good for XJ, her wish is granted.
May KH bless her on her path to TOP. (LOL)

TW Peking Opera
This opera is performed by the National Guo Guang Opera Company, a famous troupe in TW. Few years back they came to Singapore and performed other titles.
This show was showcased in 1994.
I only watched a little of the show. I find the storyline interesting but I yet to watch the whole show.
I think the male voice sang well in the opening scene, don't you think so. ^^
MEDICINE!!!
You know....ever since the trip back from Japan last December till now, I have not fully recovered from my flu and cough.
I woke up my family last night with my cough and Mum got so upset.
Initially I promised to bring her out shopping this afternoon but Mum changed her mind and wanted me to go to the DOC.
I think I freaked out my DOC also. This is the first time he prescribed so much medicne...
I kept shaking my head when I first saw them.
They cost me a BOMB!!!!!!!
So today my mum forbids me to get out of the house.
If I want to go and see CZX's show at the Esplanade tomorrow, I hope that my condition would at least improve a little.
My mum wanted me to get an MC for tomorrow and she insisted that I should rest at home for the next 3 days.
I think I can't rest... Leader will jump if I don't turn up for rehearsals during weekends.
I have already gotten an earful from her the other time.
I can't blame her though cos my roles in March are very heavy......
Sighz.......Who wants to get sick anyway......

BX brought this autographed Hana Kimi DVD just to "spite" XJ and me. Ella's and
Chun's autographs aren't special. The gist lies in JIRO's because JIRO was not able to attend the Hana Kimi Autograph Session last month due to a tight fliming schedule.
Isn't BX cocky!!!!!!!!!!!(LOL)
She didn't get the signatures herself. She got them via her uncle's help.
It would be more meaningful to get them yourself, right, my dear BX.. Now I have found someone even more "haolian" than I. (LOL)
Anyway I told her that I would put up the picture of her "prized" dvd up at my blog and at the same time to announce how "haolian" she is. (LOL)
Haha...Caught you two red-handed yozz. This couple totally "ignored" my existence and they sat at the 2nd row B seats.
I was standing besides them but their attention was in full focus on the actresses onstage.
Well, the one in red, are you really sure that you like the show to so much in extent and you failed to "detect" that I was only a few inches away from you???
No wonder Leader would love to recommend you to this troupe. (LOL)

Drink
XJ dropped by ML's house last night. She wanted to drink red wine.
So all decided to go to my house for a drink because I am a Cinderella. I have to reach home before midnight before my car turns into a pumpkin. (LOL)
Kash barked at XJ as usual. XJ must be Kash's most hated enemy in his previous life.
He always barks at XJ without fail each time she comes over to my house.
XJ freaks out each time my dog starts barking. She turns to stone and I have to lead her to my door. (LOL)
(Next time, I should let my dog loose, I have to prove XJ that my dog doesn't bite. He only sounds "LOUD". LOL)
ML brought a bottle of red wine, a bottle of green liquid...I forgot to see what it was, think it was beer and a can of beer ...ooops I also forgot to see what brand.
XJ said that she wanted to see what would happen to me if I got drunk.
I told her that I never get drunk before because I don't drink as I am a driver.
She wanted to know whether I would become a noisy or a quiet drunkard.
Hey, to drink is to drink slowly and tastes the wine and not to drink like some "cool guy" just for a show off.
The two of them drank only red wine and I drunk a bottle of that green liquid, a can of beer and some red wine.
But I didn't get drunk. First time I drank that much.But I was chattering so happily about JIRO and XJ chatted about CHUN...(LOL)
But we also chatted on Chinese Opera too and on a very very nice GZX that we watched together. ^^
This kind of drinking and chatting and watching show is much more nicer that the type of messy drinking at the steamboat day. (LOL)
One thing for sure, I don't drink when I drive.

February Latest Collection
It is MX's "haolian" session again to showcase my latest collection.
Why "haolian"? It's simple because I'm a BIG and a PROUD show off. (LOL)
Recently XJ used this word "haolian" on me. (LOL)
She said that I am KH's most "haolian" xiaosheng. (LOLOLOLOL)
Well, so far I have not come across any KH xiaoshengs who are not "haolian". (LOLOLOL)
But you can't deny the fact that XJ has the "haolian" factor in her too because we belong to the feathers of the same flock. (LOLOL)
Like some in the same opera line who talked behind our backs saying that KHers are very "haolian". Well, since we are so honoured to be "haolianers", then we must live up to its name and be worthy of it. (LOL)
Seriously speaking... We don't anyhow perform...that's one thing for sure. (LOL)
I am always a very passionate and enthusiastic collector of Chinese Opera-related stuff. Though I don't collect all of them, I collect "impressively".
My friends have been quite stunned and bewildered over my CRAZE for Fahrenheit. One of them even msned me asking me was I sick or something...
BX whom I met at GCB last night kept shaking her head when she heard me happily chattering about Fahrenheit and JIRO.
XJ glared at me when I dropped her Fahrenheit Pictorial Cum Diary onto the floor during the show. (Ooops...thousands of apologies....was not done on purpose...heartpain you know cos got JIRO mah...took out the price tag cos it hid JIRO's face and had to take out cos it's an eyesore yozz.)
Mum will freak out if she knows of my increasing amount of Fahrenheit's stuff though for so many years she has no idea how MASSIVE my chinese opera's stuff is.
The secret still lies safe because I'm good at hiding them. ^^
Now is the moment to share my collections...^^

In addition, I fished out some of JIRO's pictures. I know XJ and BX like Chun...
I have nothing against Chun...我就是要放汪大东，怎么样。。。呵呵~~~（爆）
Last but not least, flash a picture of non Fahrenheit stuff...
Oh yeah, just got the latest MSN message from some jealous one as follows;
"OMG still JIRO...."

2nd Nite @ GCB
Lesser blinking lights, no more flying acrobats, odd fashion parade and REVUE OMG!!!
I was sort of glad that there was an absence of "flying acrobats". However, at the end of the show, they had a REVUE.
A revue is a series of songs and dances whom the artistes would be wearing sparkling and feathered costumes. They tried to imitate Takarazuka but as a Takarazuka fan, I really couldn't stand their style as many of them couldn't really sing or dance well. In addition, their imitation really failed badly. There wasn't any "chemistry" on the stage and it left me stunned and bewildered. If Qin were to be there, I think she would start scolding as we are the ones who truely see and know how beautiful Takarazuka is!
The opera show was slightly better on the lst night though its storyline was very weak. The linkages in the show were kind of broken and the way that they changed their costumes was absurd.
Common sense would tell you that a prisoner being ascorted wouldn't have the "privilege" of changing a new costume. Somehow, somewhere in the desert glasslands, he got himself a nice sparkling costume that made him look like some rich guy instead of a condemned prisoner.
Met CGL before the show, he told me that he just wanted to see the show for fun though he never harbour any high hopes in the standard of the show.
Well, I can't blame him for such a mindset as the style of the show is really very different from the usual ones that we watch.
Last but not least, whoever says that GZX is easy to sing, I don't really agree.
But if you say that GZX is easier to sing than Xiangju, I do agree.
To sing GZX well isn't that simple. Even quite a handful of GZX's original inhabitants can't sing it well.

KH's YTC In TW
The video clip isn't in sequence. It would be too much of a bore to put it in sequence as personally I find YTC a boring show. If you want to hear "differentiated" singing, I'm afraid that this show isn't a good example.
Basically I sort of cut it to "fill" in my parts and I'm proud to show you my ONE & ONLY ONE singing part in this show.
AC mentioned to me that if there were to be another opportunity to re-stage this show, he isn't at all keen.
Guess everyone does have their own reasons.
Though I know that this show has a higher chance to restage. AC, I think you don't have too much of a say not to participate.
This show has been "delibrately" designed to shine out the image of Arizona Fish and that's explain why many singing lines have been added so much as to project their "importance".
Since the TW performance was a MAJOR project, we really tried our level best to accomplish our tasks because they see us not as individual but as a troupe.
I must admit that I am indeed disappointed and sad to learn that my singing lines were again cut. But as a NON-TOP, you have no right to ask for more. Be it, just a segment of singing lines, I told myself that I must try my "bestest", I couldn't bear to ruin it as I spent almost the same amount of time in KH for this show though most of it was "waiting time".
I believe XJ and AC understand how I feel. They also tried very hard.
As you know, opportunities don't knock at your door twice. That's why we treat each acting opportunity seriously.

Fahrenheit Fever (I)
Recently I have been listening to Fahrenheit Online and guess what? It does increase my working speed. (LOL)
I wouldn't say that their singing are the best however the music and rhythm of their songs make my spirits soar.
It's a destresser as well.
I know I have been "talking" alot about Fahrenheit especially JIRO at my blog till someone bugs me each time we meet on MSN.
Jealous of JIRO? Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha~~~
Too bad if you are jealous cos I can't help it. JIRO has captured my heart desu sio. JIRO is so charismatic and so so so cute!!!!!!!!!!!

Can tell that the troupe leader was trying her utmost best to perform but its troupe strength isn't performing at its optimal.
Just wanna say, it isn't my type of TW Opera.
How nice if GCM or even XQ would come with their troupes. They surely make a vast difference especially GCM.
I have watched GCM's Street Opera in TW last year. ML was so excited each time GCM appeared on stage. She would run and capture GCM's pictures into her camera non-stop. Guess GCM is the only TW Opera Xiaosheng that ML would include in her list of idols. As for XYF, ML prefers to see her laosheng and ML likes her singing.
We saw GCM in person. She has very nice complexion and I must say that she really looks good. ^^
GCM has star presence and perhaps that makes her shine among the rest of her troupe members.
How to have such a star presence? Well, more or less it is inborn, just like talent. You can improve your singing by putting in hard effort and lots of practice. But for star presence, either you have it or you don't have it.
I prefer GCM's street shows than hers in Holo. Her star presence would "light" up when you see her live in street shows instead...In Holo, however, something is really amiss, I can't explain. 2004's Song Dynasty Palace
AC did a very nice job in giving our 2004's Song Dynasty Palace a new look and also put in both English and Chinese subtitles into our very KH owned produced DVD.
Frankly speaking we didn't sing very well in this show. Though it was our first time to stage this show in Singapore's most glamourous Esplanade Theatre, I believe if we were to be given a second chance, we would do better.
I gave "Song Dynasty Palace" another run last night. Till now I still do not have the "guts" to review it from the beginning to the end.
Had several smses with XJ, reviewing our strengths and weaknesses.
(Below is just a rough estimate)
Able to sing but inappropriate packaging - Abt 60% of being well-liked by audience
Not able to sing but with nice packaging - Gained points on the nice packaging which we called "同情分”
Able to sing with nice packaging - 人气指数颇为高， around 85% and above
Not able to sing and with inappropriate packaging - Audience won't like you that much.
I was told that it would be best to focus and build a super strength rather than be an overall all rounder.
My latest 战力指数 reviewed by my stage partner;
My strength as well as also a weakness is that I am put into the category of a "all-rounder".
Singing is my strongest field but may hinder due to acting vast roles, became diluted and confused as I crossover to different types of roles.
Singing - 9/10
Acting - 8.5/10
Appearance Packaging - 8.5/10
Movement and gestures (Sheng) - 9/10
Movement and gestures (Dan) - 6.5/10
Stage Presence - 8.5/10
Popularity - 8/10
Wow...It is nice to have a stage partner who has great confidence in you. (LOL)
It makes me look like an outstanding student in KH.

Self-reflection is as follows;
Singing - 7.5/10
I feel that I can improve further. I have difficulties in switching from a sheng's voice to a dan's and also from an "adult" to a "child". Sometimes wrong types of tones get into incorrect types of roles...(LOL)
Acting - 7/10
I am very bad in romance scenes. I find hard to "fall in love" and I feel more at ease depending on whom I act opposite with. Not professional right...(LOL)
Appearance Packaging - 7.5/10
Appearance is something that I always stress alot. I may look very ordinary off-stage cos basically I am not the type to go for makeup and girlist stuff. Quite lazy rite? (LOL) But when come to stage, makeup alone takes quite some time because I like clean and nice makeup. ^^
Movement and gestures (Sheng) - 7/10
My main role is Xiaosheng. I go for clean and clear cut movements, that is my aim. ^^
Movement and gestures (Dan) - 4.5/10
Yucky and terrible. My dan is simply horrifying!!!
Stage Presence - 7/10
I make myself seen and heard. That's my aim.
Popularity - 7/10
My audience gives me the support and encouragement that KH sometimes fails to give me. If not for them, I don't think I can survive this long. ^^
Lately...I have not much feel in my Chinese opera...

KH's CNY Hotpot cum Drinking Session
Tomorrow is the day!!!
KH has a hotpot session tomorrow.
It is going to be one whole day and we will get to view our TW YTC, TW Yilan's performances, 2004's Tragedy of the Song Palace and 2006's TW camera shoots taken my XMG.
SH told me not to drive so that I get a chance to drink.
However, I can't, not at this time because I am yet to recover from my flu. My Doc would jump if he knows that I drink. ^^
How nice if XJ can make it for the hotpot session. Among my kakis, the BIG n POWERFUL drinkers are XJ and K. To me, WMY isn't a big drinker, she's just trying to test her limit and be a "brave" drinker instead. As for SH, I'm not sure. From the outside belongs to the soft soft whining girlish type, but I think she is able to drink.
ML controls and AC....Er...AC, do you drink? A little perhaps...
As for me, I don't drink because I drive. (LOL)
Received a sms from Her Supreme...
The last line is ironical...but is good news to many of us, I suppose.
It says," 我们不见不散，不醉不散，明晚见"
Hahahahahahaha...Usually no drinking is allowed in KH... I think she has changed for the better. (LOL)

Last week was a fantastic week!
We went to Singapore and attended many activities… like promoting our Fahrenheit album and also Hanakimi which will be airing in Singapore this month! Although most of you have watched it, I gotta tell you that watching from the TV is totally a different feeling from watching from the computer screen so you’ve gotta watch it again, ok? Haha! Most importantly, we would like to once again ‘thank’ SHE for giving us this great opportunity to be their special guest in their Singapore concert!
During our activities in Singapore, I honestly didn’t expect to see so many supporters! It was really unbelievable and the environment during our autograph signing activity made us really HIGH… the feeling was great! Besides Singaporean supporters, there were also supporters coming from different parts of the world as well! No one expected this crowd and very unfortunately, we didn’t manage to finish signing all the CDs and I know many of you have been queuing for a long time under the warm weather… We really felt bad at the end of the activity!
The following day, we had the Hanakimi autograph session and again, the same number of crowds appeared and this time, our Company asked us to speed up with the singing so all CDs will be signed and the luckily there was only Ella and myself so the process was a little quicker… Anyway, the pressure was still there and that was the first time for me to sign in such a fast pace and I really felt very uncomfortable as I had to rush and did not even have enough time to shake hands properly... However, as time went by, I decided not be affected by the pressure and decided to slow down because I know all of you came not only because of our autographs but also to have a good eye contact or a proper shake hands with us. I deeply apologize for the rush in signing the CDs… SORRY!
By the way, I realised that our Singaporean supporters are really disciplined!!! You guys really listen to the commands from our staff, huh! We are really happy and proud of you guys because it’s for the safety of all of you…Well Done and Thank You!
Unfortunately, we did not have much time to do what I have always loved most about Singapore… SHOPPING!!! However, I’m happy enough to be able to stay in the hotel which I always drop by whenever I visit Singapore and it’s all because of the Hainanese Chicken Rice… HEHE!!! I still recall myself rushing to the hotel from the airport just to eat the Chic rice though there was only 6 hours transit time in Singapore for the flight from Brunei to Melbourne…Hopefully, I will be able to come again secretly and enjoy myself in Singapore….hahaa!
By the way, I just finished watching Hanakimi Episode 12 a while ago and it has been a month already that I haven't watched it as I've been busy all these while and really got no time at all. Anyway, I have to say that I really enjoy watching it tonight because it's not only very funny(Imagination part) but very touching too! No wonder so many of you love it.... haha! It’s getting better and better…So, will I be with Rui Xi at the end??? You have to Guess ☺!!! This episode’s 'Behind The Scenes' really touched me as it shows so many of you supporting us wherever we hold our activities... Thank you guys! Thank you so so much!
Last but not least… we were awarded with 2 music awards in Taiwan last week… the country where our showbiz career started at and it means a lot to us… A big thank you to everyone who gave us this great opportunity and Fahrenheit Go Go Go!!!

Slim
After my traumatic experience last year, my weight plummeted alot. However at the later part of the year, I put on some weight.
Then the red light started to flash as my weight went up.
So now I am on diet for about 2 weeks already.
I did slim down but still have not met my targetted weight.
Dad scolded me the other day saying that I was too skinny.
Mum told me this morning that I must watch my weight, cannot go any fatter though she knew that I have slimmed down.
My cough is stubborn and I don't take cold drinks and ice-cream now. I only take milo sometimes and most of the time just plain water.
Do you know the most happiest thing that ML bought for me was fried rice while I was waiting for my hana kimi soundtrack to be signed? Perhaps she was worried because it was a long wait.
Rice is indeed off my list. I am the type that can get fat easily. Only through controlling my diet, a very small decrease in weight can then be seen. (LOL)
Anyway, I don't want to be traumatised by labelling being fat.
I don't think I can be like Ella. We have the same height but she only weighs a mere 48kg...I think my dad will surely scold me for that. (LOL)
I ever reached 46kg...and I could hardly survive because I was so weak. So no 46kg for me!

YP wanna take a look at my SHE. I smsed her yesterday telling her that I didn't expect SHE albums can be that expensive. YP said that she got them at about $10 per album.
What you see here cost me almost $80 and I told YP that I bought the TW version instead of the cheaper CHN version.
I am still new to SHE albums...Perhap SY can tell me whether have I bought the right stuff and which one is the latest. (LOL)
Hotpot Gala n Rehearsals
Karen's belated birthday Hotpot Session was on last night. We went to Tanglin Mall's Szechuan Hotpot Restaurant. I have been looking forward to this session. Just that I happened to get sick at the wrong time and that's why my mum made a big fuss over it after the session.
Look at WMY, wow...long time no see... getting darker and skinnier I think. Ooops, looks so much different when you compared this picture with her madeover. You can see her madeover at XJ's blog.. Hey WMY, I think you suit Hana Kimi's Ella's role yozz. (WMY probably shakes her head off (I think she rather goes to girls' school instead (LOL), she told me that she doesn't like Ella. She prefers Hebe because Hebe has the best voice among them. However Karen said that Ella has stage presence that makes her stand out among them. I agree totally!!!)
What made Karen seem so amused?
As usual WMY was delighted to play as the main chef in our group.
Do you notice something? The 2nd leading star wasn't seen and that's XJ. She worked late and I smsed her at about 9pm telling her that her "Ah Chun Chun" was waiting for her and wanted her to come quickly. Of course she returned and said that was I mad?
I think it would be "madder" if she came at closing time. (LOL)
So in the end, we paid the bill and asked XJ to come in and eat our "dianxin". You should see the way she gobbled her food as if had not eaten for days.
After leaving the restaurant , we went to Coffee Bean for a drink. XJ sat down and ate her pie and we all had coffee. I forgot that I can be allergic to coffee because sometimes coffee doesn't make me feel good. It can make me feel bloated and dizzy and it happened again last night.
I was meddling with XJ's creative Ipod because I was so delighted to see Fahrenheit's songs were included. But ML didn't allow me to listen to them because she felt that I was being rude to the others who were in a conversation while listening to songs.
But in the end, they just left me and XJ out of their conversation and the two of us were happy enough to be left alone. We were harping on our favourite topics again. (LOL)
XJ commented that recently I have been very very high due to Hana Kimi and Fahrenheit. I told her that I used to be like that when it came to my Takarazuka and Chinese Opera just that XJ wasn't in the same situation as me. Now XJ is able to sense my excitement because she herself is involved as well.
SH, WMY and K only know that we are in such a craze but from their speech and expressions, you can tell that they are quite uncertain why we are in such a frenzy state.
Usually ML would frown at my craze but this time JIRO passed ML's approval and she is so nice to get me some info of Fahrenheit. She gave me a newspaper which highlighted on Fahrenheit. Not only that, she watches KO One with me and surprisingly ML didn't walk away. She would usually shrug or walk away if she is not interested.
Three big cheers to Mariko San. Mariko San is ML's favourite Takarazuka Star. Guess JIRO reminds ML of Mariko. (LOL)
K and SH said that they prefer Chun because they find Chun PRETTY and that made XJ so happy. Only ML and I prefer JIRO and I simply adore JIRO though I don't mind Chun. What about WMY? Chey, don't ask her...as usual. (LOL)
Hey my hair isn't that ugly right, XJ? XJ said that I was being petty because I kept bugging at my blog about what she had commented about my hair. She even counted the number of times that I mentioned. See...an accountant is always an accountant. (LOL)
Many asked me why I bear to cut my long hair. They asked what about my opera since my hair is cut short.
I just shrugged and said that I didn't want to care about it. To think that I actually saved my hair for almost 2 decades. I think it is more than enough. It is high time for me to change. YTC has already broadcasted in TW and probably we would get to watch the tape next week. Leader has obtained some feedback from her TW friends and of course the content of the feedback I am not interested to blog about. Feedback can be highly debateable and questionable yozz. (LOL)
I got a sarcastic sms and I just can't be bothered to return it. Oh yeah...I forgotten something... Being sick isn't important but to go for rehearsals is more important. (LOL)
I shall try my best in this afternoon's rehearsal though I may not able to relive my opera feel that fast. ^^
Time is just too tight and I can't remember too many lines......sigh....

Mum called and gave me a lecture over the phone. Once again, she made me feel mad!
She nagged on and on and non-stop. She questioned me whether I had gone "idol-chasing". She mentioned a Japanese Boy Band and SHE.
I denied because I didn't! I had HOTPOT with my KH Kakis.
I am not the sort to chase after idols. From my blog, you may think that I'm some craze. Craze yes...in a way but not those fanatic types. I am more fanatic in buying Chinese Opera vcds and dvds. I went for the Fahrenheit and Hana Kimi autograph sessions simply because I wanted to experience how they were like. In addition, I have never tried it when I was in my teens. I was just plain curious. Just that I have been sick since the Hokkaido trip and my mum got upset each time she heard me cough. My cough is very stubborn. It is my weakness. Once I start to cough, it can go for months and my mum would start to scold me and threaten me that she would throw me out if I get pneumonia. This isn't the first time that she threatens me. Each time I cough, she would do that. I am indeed very tired to hear her say the same old lines again!
But I can't argue much because Doc diagnosed me that my lungs aren't working well and not strong. He also mentioned that if I drag any further, I probably would get pneumonia. This Sunday, I have to go for another checkup. I didn't go to KH for a week and now my Leader is getting mad at me also.
I have already told XJ to cut my Hongloumeng Excerpt away because I do not want to exert myself too much. March is going to be a very busy month for me and I have performances almost every weekends and I don't think my little brain is able to contain that much lines and songs. I better be mentally prepared as my mum surely jumps and I surely get more lashing from her. (LOL)
Mum doesn't understand me at all. When I was still schooling, she held me too tight! All she wanted was that I concentrated in my studies. I was quite sporty in Primary School but when I entered Secondary School, Mum stopped me from joining any SPORTS-related activities. She wouldn't let me join Chinese Dance as well. I would look at the dancers from far and how I envied them. The CCAs that she allowed were being a librarian and a choir member. If I were to join Chinese Dance, perhaps my movements would be more graceful. I only started to learn Chinese Opera after Secondary 4 when I was 16. Learning Chinese Opera was a decision that both my parents deeply regretted because they never expected me to carry on for so many years. For years, they have tried numberous ways and means to stop me from going to KH. They would insult, humiliate , scold , nag and even resorted to freezing my pocket money just to weaken my will to go to KH. Yet I still strive on. Now they are not able to freeze my money but they would still give me a lecture every here and then. For so many years of "training", I have become immuned to it.
Mum also warned me against having boyfriends when I was studying. She threatened me this and that...(Head Shaking)....Why can't she trust me? I'm not the type to fall so easily. I am not easily touched. Till now no one has actually touched my heart except my little cute BOBO Bear (LOL)
Sometimes I really do not know what my mum really wants...
If I were to get a boyfriend, my mum surely interfere. She did tell me about her conditions of a "Perfect Boyfriend". (Hey, I should be the one to choose not her. But mum is always mum and her words are final. Can I go against her without having to bag a title of being an unfilial daughter?
Let me name a few conditions of my mum's perfect "son-in-law". (LOL)
High pay and respectable job, salary must be higher than me. Cannot be too old, must be single, no "certain" nationalities, only Chinese and the list goes on......
If she isn't happy, she ever mentioned that she would try all ways and means to cut off the relationship. I know she would though she didn't make me a victim out of it.
I am not worried about BF as this isn't my top priority. My top priority is to work to keep myself alive and learn my Chinese Opera. ^^
I am not shutting myself either BUT first you have to make me fall in love. Without love and feel, I rather stay single. Maybe striking lottery is much easier than to make me fall in love.(LOL)
Dearest mummy, please just let me do what I want. Chinese Opera is my passion and to take away from me is to take my life. I am old enough to decide what I want. If you could trust me enough though I know you won't support me in my Chinese Opera.
Chinese Opera may not be everything to me but it does have quite a major effect on me. I am trying to strike a balance now as in putting some attention in other areas. Going out with Kakis, watching shows and listening to other music genres are delightful.
Recently I have been very happy with Hana Kimi and Fahrenheit and even XJ told me that she felt the excitement in me and it made her feel happy too. ^^

Daze & Drowsy
The medicine makes me feel tired and drowsy. The whole day I was in a daze thinking about Ella and Fahrenheit. (LOL)
Last night's newspapers highlighted Fahrenheit and I was quite excited about it. XJ smsed me too asking me to go and buy.
Hey AC & XJ, if we have time for LC, we can even watch Fahrenheit together...(LOL)
I doubt so that we have spare time as most weekends will be used up for rehearsals.
I was telling ML that recently I have no opera feel...The Hana Kimi's craze isn't over yet. I'm looking forward to EP 12. This show really rocks.
I didn't go to KH since last Thursday because I was down with a very bad flu. I can't sing even now. I have already missed 4 rehearsals. Guess Leader is gonna be very mad at me.
Now my hair is getting better, maybe I'm getting used to it now though XJ said that my hair isn't that nice. Perhaps I need to style it abit and probably it would look much better.
Tomorrow is HOTPOT day! Hurray!!!!
I remembered telling XJ that I wanna eat HOTPOT and XJ said that she had no time and asked me to wait for KH's HOTPOT day. Now I don't have to wait that long!!! Yeah!!!
Now I have 3 fanclubs. The first fanclub is Ye Qing, the second one is Aran Kei and the newest fanclub that I joined is Jiro's. (^_^)
I am so happy!!!!!!!!!!^^
Besides the effects of the medicine, guess happiness also adds in. No wonder I have been in a daze lately. ^^
