Found this clip online, starring Wang Lan Hua, a Taiwanese Opera veteran.
Am I right to say that this show was staged in Singapore recently?

An interview with Chen Na Jun.
She used to be a Wu Dan but converted to a sheng.
She was also converted from a Fan-style to a Xu-style.
She was a classmate of Wang Zhiping. Wang came from Zhoushan Yueju Troupe, the same existing troupe that Chen is now in.
Chen mentioned that Wang is her best stage partner even though Wang has gone to Shanghai in the 80s.
Chen is the sheng who plays opposite Wang in this "The Legend of Chunxiang"

War
Just saw XJ's blog......
War is brewing at KH. (LOL)
The very obvious one is a COLD WAR between the TOP and Me. (LOL)
We just basically ignored each other's existence and we don't talk unless when it comes to official matters. (LOL)
TOP snarled at XJ today during rehearsal. She remarked that she disliked "Hao Lian" (Cocky) people.
XJ was stretching her legs behind the wooden prop.
Somehow I feel that TOP's remark was indirectly hurled at me. I think I must have hurt her ego when I did the one-legged spilt last week.
Good to see her improving. Hope that she will do a nice one-legged spilt during her 1000 miles show. I believe she will do KH proud. (LOLOLOLOL)
Anyway, which one is more important?

YN As Butler Diao
One shocking news is that YN has to take up WMY's Butler Diao.
YN is given no choice because WMY has declined to play the role as she has not finished her studies yet.
Furthermore, almost all elgible actors have been down with other roles already.
Butler Diao is a very heavy role and is a difficult role for a xiao dan to act. YN will have difficulties to act such a role.
To be frank, I can't picture YN as Butler Diao. It sures tarnish a dan's image. However YN has no other choice but to take up the role as no one else is available to take such a role.
If no one plays Butler Diao, the whole show may have to shelf into the closet. (Sighz)

Bossy Director Su (II)
Bossy Director Su is getting more and more bold. She is now getting on almost everyone's nerves. She has become too overly confident and a yaya papaya.
Not only she tries to teach SENIORS how to sing and act but also tries to ask one SENIOR to give up her role so that her buddy can get to play that role.
I am PISSED with her attitude. She tried to bully me also but I didn't let her continue and she tried to be nice to me after that.
This isn't how a JUNIOR's attitude should be.
I see her as a BIG BULLY。 A big nosy disgusting big bully!
She better curbs her nonsensical attitude and better keep an arm's length away from me. My patience is limited and don't try to incur my wrath.

A Nice Song
Teacher Zhuang taught us a very nice song today. It was composed by a very famous Xiangju Master - Shao Jianghai.
I quite like the song because the tune is soothing and melodious. However it is quite difficult to sing out the feel because some of the notes were written in such a way that demanded a unique intonation.
For a person like me who doesn't know how to read scores may be quite difficult to capture Master Jiang's interpretation of the song.
Everyone tends to sing his or her own ways and thus "distorts" the correct interpretation.
You have to be very accurate in your tune, tone and pronuniciation in order to get close to the song's original taste.
Teacher Zhuang seems to put high hopes on me......But I am not very stable in my rhythm though I may seem to be one of the better singers in KH.
And one very bad thing is that I always sing my own style and don't follow exactly to the scores.

I have lent it out to someone from KH. The problem is that I can't remember whom I have loaned out to. I usually lend it out to KHers.

ME(Shivered at the thought of TOP being a dan)
Supreme One: As for you, I find you very suitable for a dan but you insist of being a xiaosheng. Since you want to be a xiaosheng, I respect your wish.
ME(I have always been a xiaosheng since Day One more than a decade ago.)(Eyebrows twitching questionably)
Supreme One: If the two of you cooperate and become stage partners, the impact will be stronger and the show will be better.
ME: I think she hates me so I don't think we can go to that stage. She has been ignoring me recently. Since she ignored me totally, I behave in the same way too.
Supreme One: Well, that's her character...(her tone became a bit uneasy.)
ME: We just don't click and we do not have the 默契。他走他的阳光道，我走我的独木桥。这样就好了。

Supreme One continued that TOP was easygoing as she didn't mind to pair with any dans.
Well somehow that makes me sound as if I am the choosy and difficult one.
I admit that I am not that "easygoing" as the TOP (Top being easygoing? Unbelievable!!!)(LOL)
I am a EGOISTIC sheng who don't anyhow pair off with any dans because I give the other people the impression that I don't like to be pulled down.
Well, that what the other people thought...
But do you know that many dans are not willing to pair off with me because they look more mature than me and somehow it sort of ruins their egos.
I am being limited by my looks actually and for a period of time I was being troubled by the dans' perception.
Still I insist on being a xiaosheng and think of ways to improve on my outlook and feel.
She suggested me being a dan last year and she brought it up again a few days ago.
But it sets me thinking......
The ironical fact is in that so many years when Supreme One was the TOP DAN, she never told me such and each time I acted...a dan role...out of some valid reasons, I "suffered" partially due to lack of confidence but also to some other...ahem ahem situations. (Not to elaborate here but I think XJ will understand what I meant.)(LOL)
Now I am going to answer XJ's questions.
I prefer being a sheng more than a dan.
Threaten TOP? I think no matter whether being a sheng or a dan, I still "threaten" both parties.
But if the TOP wants to be a dan, she probably be a much less threatening dan. (LOL)
XJ, you won't feel "threaten" if I become a dan? I bet you will because it is just the nature's way.
So I rather not add further to your stress. I rather stress the TOP. (LOL)

P.S. Oh ya, I don't want to join DanDan 38 Club, I rather stay in a Coolcoolxiaosheng 49 Club. (LOL)

厦门人年底可看电视歌仔戏

商报讯 记者龚冉报道 对大陆戏迷来说，台湾的电视歌仔戏不仅保有了戏种的精华，还兼顾电视剧的好看。从近日来厦的台湾歌仔戏编剧赵浩辰先生那里，记者了解到，他将与闽南一些单位合作拍摄大陆首部电视歌仔戏，其中大部分取景将选在厦门和泉州地区。
赵浩辰经过数年观察，他发现闽南地区的歌仔戏一般只活跃于舞台上。从广大戏迷对电视歌仔戏的欢迎程度来看，这其中还是有很大潜在市场，于是，他打算将台湾电视歌仔戏的拍摄方式带来大陆。此次来厦，他带来了2套大纲和4套剧本，戏迷们耳熟能详的《琴韵箫声》、《洛阳桥》等剧本都在其中。目前有几家媒体和音像出版社都与赵导接洽中，希望他能拍摄带有厚重历史感的电视歌仔戏，比如《隋唐演义》。据悉，第一档电视剧将采用他带来的剧本，6月下旬与有关方面签约之后就进行拍摄，预计最早今年年底就可以与广大市民见面了。
比《新白娘子传奇》好看
说起电视歌仔戏，了解的人还真不多。目前，大陆歌仔戏都只是舞台剧，没有真正意义上的电视歌仔戏，大家所看的电视歌仔戏节目都是台湾歌仔戏剧团拍摄的。如果说舞台上演的歌仔戏是演给戏迷们看的，那么电视歌仔戏就是给所有观众欣赏的。这类歌仔戏的制作方式与普通连续剧非常相似的。相比普通歌仔戏在一个舞台上的高度集中式的演出，电视歌仔戏有不同的场景、不同的曲调和延伸的剧情供人们欣赏。可以说，去掉歌仔戏的唱腔和身段部分，人们看到的就是一部完整的电视连续剧。电视剧拍摄的惯用手法一个也不会少，人们还将在电视歌仔戏中欣赏到不少特技镜头。
为了迎合所有观众的喜好，电视歌仔戏的台词更加好听，情节也更容易懂。“《新白娘子传奇》其实是在连续剧中加入了黄梅戏的元素，但其实电视歌仔戏会比它更加生动好看。”
包装出新的歌仔戏明星
赵浩辰介绍说，本次来厦摄影的电视歌仔戏中的生、旦、丑三角色中，将选一二位台湾演员扮演，其余角色将选用闽南地区的演员。因此，对闽南地区演员的征选和培训工作将随后开始。他希望能够寻找到舞台经验比较丰富的老演员，当然也不会放松对新人的发掘。

Recently I have been watching some yueju operas either online or discs. So nice especially when you get to watch such beautiful and wonderful acting and singing.
Each time I see slim actresses...it reminds me not to get too fat....But I am now gaining some weight...alas........so sad.

看到越剧论坛上有人提及应惠珠，心里有点莫名辛酸，应是一个不为人知的傅派旦角。我对她的印象也只有五女拜寿里四女儿这么一点印象，连何英也在越坛消失了，少一个应惠珠那就更少有人关注了。以前只是听说她的婚姻不是很美满。于是我有空还会特意翻出五女拜寿的碟片看看她花样的容貌，听听她和陶慧敏仅有的两句唱词。
后来才得知她更多的境遇，她独自一人住在小百花的宿舍里，精神在常人看来已经不正常了，据说经常一人拿着水桶一遍一遍地清洗，没有人会跟她说话，或者说，她是浙百的包袱，因为她已经不可能上台演出了。
但她每天会去浙百内部的布告栏前看剧团的动态（看有没有她的戏？）；浙百的各项会议她能参加的她都会去，只是没有人愿意坐在她旁边；她会一个人在浙百的排练厅里练功，就在黑暗里，从不开灯；据说她还会在夜阑人静的时候在黄龙附近独自一人挥舞着长长的，白白的水袖。
或者一切缘自她太想演戏了吧。于是我又会想起她花样的容貌，玉样的精神，但是据说她现在一点都不好看了。浙百落英缤纷，其实想想何英她们虽然离开越剧，都是有好的归宿的。对于应惠珠，我想起了杨绛女士说她姑姑的一句话了（大意）：知道而记得她的人已经很少了，而谈起而了解她的人近乎没有了。
其实之前我也只有看过她的杨四香；后来小徐给了我她的《大观园－元妃省亲》；再后来小渔给了我了一出极难得的《白蛇传－断桥》，我都仔细看了，不知道说什么好。
或者就是人生的曲折一笔笔构勒了历史的长河，历史的长河已然叠印着我们深深浅浅的履痕，只是我们都不曾看到。

或者一切缘自她太想演戏了吧。于是我又会想起她花样的容貌，玉样的精神，但是据说她现在一点都不好看了。浙百落英缤纷，其实想想何英她们虽然离开越剧，都是有好的归宿的。对于应惠珠，我想起了杨绛女士说她姑姑的一句话了（大意）：知道而记得她的人已经很少了，而谈起而了解她的人近乎没有了。
其实之前我也只有看过她的杨四香；后来小徐给了我她的《大观园－元妃省亲》；再后来小渔给了我了一出极难得的《白蛇传－断桥》，我都仔细看了，不知道说什么好。
或者就是人生的曲折一笔笔构勒了历史的长河，历史的长河已然叠印着我们深深浅浅的履痕，只是我们都不曾看到。

I must thank Yaya and Xiangxiang for being so kind and nice for giving all these TW goodies. In addition, SY is also very very nice to bring them over from TW to me.
I went to get them from SY yesterday.
Here are some of the highlights that I want to show;
I finally got this "White Horse" CD sung by GCM and her Dan.
If you are expecting "Off The Hook Taiwanese Opera" to sound similar to Traditional Taiwanese Opera, this album will become a shock to you. It is something that's rebellious and critical towards this age, a classic downbeat lounge music.
If you are very used to Traditional TW Opera, perhaps this album isn't for you. (LOL)
The inside of the album, cool isn't it. Not even a single picture of GCM but I think it is appropriate not to have any pictures as it may be a spoiler to its art design.

We went to JM's son's wedding banquet. JM was dressed up so beautifully.
So this is the gown that she told us that cost her a cool 400 bucks.

AL was so excited to sit beside WMY as WMY is now on study leave. ^^
We got to know each other more during the TW Trip and I got to know her better when we discovered that she also likes Ella and Farenheit.
She lent me many magazines on Fahrenheit and she is gonna to lend me the whole series of Hana Kimi...
Wow, I am so so so happy. ^^
I am waiting for WMY to make a comeback in October. Then she can share some of my "pressure" from the TOP. (LOL)
She used to before going off for studies. Not that I am being mean, just that it is the "nature's way" that capable shengs will be "awarded". (LOL)
I was advised not to be too rash. I can be too rash sometimes and I blow my top once I get nonsensical stuff.

Amai's Favourite Xiaosheng - Jiangyao
I seldom talk about Jiangyao but I shall showcase her today.
Someone commented that I was being biased and unfair towards Zhang Lin.
Said that I always blog about opera actresses that I like.
Insisted that Zhang Lin isn't that bad, in fact she's very good.
In my previous blog, I mentioned that Zhang Lin resembles Jiang Yao however her maturity level is lacking.
I don't find anything wrong with this sentence. The irony is that the person who questioned me doesn't know who is Jiangyao.(LOL)
Zhang Lin is still very young and has so many opportunities to improve.
When I saw her Huangpu Shaohua in Meng Lijun, the initial impression was not too bad but somehow towards the end, something was lacking in feel.
Once I ever tried to fool ML when I showed her a 鹦哥戏 starring Zhang Lin but I told ML that it was Jiangyao.
ML perked up immediately but after sometime she said that that couldn't be Jiangyao because 气质不太一样。
To her, 江瑶的气质真的不一样，比起张真的有很大的区别。
Even if Zhang resembles Jiangyao, still ML wasn't fooled.
Besides Mao Weitao and Qian Huili, ML likes Jiangyao alot. Sometimes she even calls her up for a little chat.
Just that Notty Amai doesn't want to speak to her at times. (LOL)
Anyway I may plan to go HZ cos JY keeps inviting us to go over. But I am so worried that when I see her, I may cry......

Chinese Opera Sang In English
Are you able to accept Chinese Opera sang in English?
I don't think I can accept.
Even if you sing very well, it will still sound odd.
I remember watching CTC's Madame White Snake in English, it sounded so funny and wierd. It just could not substain my interest.
I rather see them do cantonese opera instead.
Bossy Director Su
Recently a new "post" was bestowed. We called her "Director" Su.
Director Su loves to make lots of comments and many of the comments are lame.
She will give advices and suggestions and almost none of them sound valid and some are in fact hilarious.
She will go around and boss you around. She does that to the newbies and juniors and now she has upgraded herself and taught the seniors exclude TOP and the Supreme One what to do and what not to do.
She is such a pitiful creature that she doesn't realise that all her crappy comments piss people off. She doesn't realise that the demonstrations that she gave make her look sheepishly and in a way, ugly.
Not that we are so super duper and not willing to listen, as long as the comments are sound and reasonable, we sure lend a listening ear.
I won't be surprised if she were to teach us how to act and sing because there is a significant evidence of she doing as such.
One crappy thing that she did was...She taught me how to sing. (LOL)
Just leave us alone and kindly do something to improve your skills instead, "Director" Su~~~ (LOL)

Another Yin-style Yueju Xiaosheng - Zhang Lin
I have introduced her in my earlier blogs.
Zhang Lin has a very super duper voice and that makes her very outstanding in singing. She resembles my favourite Fan-style actress - Jiang Yao.
I saw her performance live two years back at Golden Theatre.
She didn't really surprise me in her acting. If you were to compare her with Jiang Yao, there is a gap and Zhang needs to brush up more on her acting. Basically she is okie but her maturity level is still lacking.
I'm waiting to see her performance in this Yueju's competition held last year. She got a gold award and I think she does deserve it.
I saw one of her competition clips online and I am indeed amazed at her improvement.
I like hardworking actresses. ^^

Yang's Mdm White Snake
Yang's Mdm White Snake is so much better than Cai Zhefei's version.
Yang's version is known as the 青春版本越剧-人蛇恋。
I am quite pleased with their performance and their setting, background, props and costumes are quite nice and pleasant. ^^
Yang usually does baddie guy roles and she isn't the TOP of her troupe. However this show she is given an opportunity to showcase her abilities.
Besides Yin-style, she can also sing Lu-style and Xu-style. She appears in some of the yueju karaokes produced by her troupe.
One nice thing that I discover about her is that she did a "抢背". She jumped so high and rolled over on the stage...It was so impressive and I wanna to learn but no one to guide me along as I am quite afraid of hurting myself.
So far, no one is able to demonstrate and teach me how to "抢背"。
My friend at Chunfeng Troupe told me proudly that everyone in her troupe knows the skill and I am so envious. ^^
So what my troupe is good at?
Good at "packaging" oneself and "ogling" at mirrors till they "crack". (LOL)

Another Side of Yang Weiwen
OMG...can you tell that this is the Baddie Yueju Xiaosheng that I blogged earlier?
She is so pretty and SY told me that she finds her too 秀气。。。。。。
I like 秀气小生。。。 Maybe reminds me of myself....I always get such remarks saying that I am too 秀气 to be a sheng...(sob...sob..)
But someone saw my dan online said that I'm abit 英气 for a dan.
So what do you want me to do? (Sighz)
Baddie Yueju Xiaosheng - Yang Weiwen
Yin cum Lu Style Xiaosheng - Yang Weiwen is pretty and her troupe always gets her to do the baddie roles most of the time. (LOL)
In this show, she acted the flirtatious Jia Lian in Romance of the Red Chambers. I think she suits this role. Just look at her seductive eyes...so nice!!! (LOL)
Recognise the dan? She was the one who did the 情勾 who wore the semi black and white costume.
I like both actresses. ^^

My dad happened to watch this episode and when he saw Yang taking off the mistress' clothes.
My dad was shocked and shook his head and said in hokkien...
"Ai yo , na er qie ni hiong!" which means..."Y is she so ....?" (Can't find a word to describe) (LOL)
My reaction was intially stunned and then laughed and laughed（LOL)

I knew about this show quite some time ago. Someone posted up on a website and its storyline sort of attracted my attention.
Xie Qunying is also another key factor that makes me want to get this show. I always like this actress. I like her further when I saw her "Jade Dragonfly" in Golden Theatre some years back. Somehow Xie did a better job than WFH, WFH wasn't at her optimal level, kind of distracted. I just like the show "Jade Dragonfly". I ever suggested that WMY and XJ to act an excerpt but WMY isn't comfy enough to have XJ acting as her mother. (LOL)
Come on, WMY, the Ah Chun Sao aka BBQ aka Shanice acted as my Auntie in "San Jia Fu". (LOL)
I don't mind XJ to act as my mother desu sio...hehe. What counts more is the essence of the excerpt. ^^
On that same stage, I like another actress - Tao Qi. She acted Li Qingzhao in old age. ML and I were so mermerised by her. CMM who is a fan of Zhu Xiaozhao also likes her alot and has been asking me whether Tao's Li Qingzhao is released in the market.
Tao even went to TW to perform this show. A pity that I didn't get to see the show live.
These 2 shows are out in China's market but you can't find them anywhere locally. There are far too many Yueju discs flooding the China's market. The irony is that my TW friend went to HZ to search for them but ended up buying none. She was not able to find any discs......
I have not been to Jiangnan for some time. I remembered getting tons of them years years ago......
Anyway, Amai has her own unique ways to get her resource. Of course with ML's help, higher chances for me to get them. Have to wait for opportunities......
I can't ask too much and am very grateful to ML's friends who are willing to bring over from China.
My last goodies were Fahrenhiet Photobooks and ML scolded me because the books weighed a ton. (LOL)
Not only that, the books caused some embarrassment to ML's friend because his colleagues thought that he was a wierdo for getting four beautiful boys' photobooks. (Hahahahahaha)
He is such a nice guy. He gave me a box set of Huangmei Opera Collection. He is borned in An Wei, to him Huangmei Opera must have reminded him of his hometown. ^^

桐花泪的网上评语（转贴）
下午刚看完了《桐花泪》，还得多谢这位林馨妹妹的提醒了，不然又要抱憾终身！这样的好心人多多益益啊！
第一次看到仰萍是很多年前电视里放《桐江雨》，虽然整出戏的印象比较模糊了，不过从此就对这位“母亲”牵肠挂肚了。早就知道这出戏拍成了电影，却始终无缘一睹，这回终于赶上了。不过看喜欢的演员的演出即是一种享受也是一种折磨，大气不敢出，眼睛不敢眨，生怕哪个镜头会不小心地生生溜走了。
总的来说，我是蛮喜欢这出戏的，尤其是看多了尔虞我诈、富丽堂皇的宫庭戏，欣赏过了不少亲亲我我的爱情颂歌后，感觉其就是山乡吹来的一股清风，很淳朴。整出戏的环境很宁静，幽幽的青山，潺潺的流水，导演也没有用过多的手法来渲染，画面比较明亮开朗。80年代的电影多有这种氛围，如今的作品手法多了，反倒看得我头晕眼花的，像张艺谋的那部《有话好好说》似的，简直就看不下去，头痛啊！不过新锐导演大多喜欢创新啊：）
言归正传，这个戏内容不多，剧情并不复杂，但衔接地很紧凑，对人物的刻画也很细致，想来从舞台剧到拍成电影应该也经历了一个磨合修改的过程了。演大龙的那个演员不错，她的表演可算是一个亮点，表演自然生动，唱腔高亢明亮，倒是蛮像一个敦实的山乡孩子的。不同年龄阶段用不同的演员来饰是比较合理的，较之以往看的很多戏曲片中的以大充小的表演要舒服多了。看她的年龄应该也不会比仰萍小很多，不过的确蛮可爱，蛮像男孩子的。
仰萍的表演自然是不能不提的，不过我这里纯属班门弄斧：）好像有个共识，认为表演是她的强项，也确是如此，单从她早年的这部戏中也可见一斑。让一个年轻的姑娘来饰演十多岁大的孩子的母亲，行么？这可能是很多人未看之前有过的担心，但是从剧中的表演看来，她是胜任的。她天生的温柔与贤良让她演起这样的角色来还是很有说服力的，更何况有之前《绣花女传奇》的经验，应是轻车熟路了。气质这种东西真是蛮奥妙的，烙印在你的骨子里了。
她的表演比较细腻（纯属废话，大家都知道，哈……），对细节的刻画很注意，喜欢她吱呀吱呀织布的样子，举手投足俨然一副农家女的样子；喜欢她大龙走后在林中焦急又茫然的神情，叫我的心也跟着揪紧；喜欢她让二龙认亲娘时的表情，那是一种怎样的释然和朴素的情怀啊！喜欢她与大龙重逢时细微变化的表情，让人感觉到她的认真与细致。当然年轻也有稚嫩的地方，这也是很难免的。比如在观音庙中开始的一段唱和得知毒酒后在小径中的表演好像舞台味较重，不过这是个人的看法了，可能不同的人对越剧影视剧表演的虚实性上会有不同的理解了，这是另一个问题了。仰萍的唱我是一直以来都很喜欢的，较之王老师的多了份委婉雅致、典雅悠远。有人认为她的嗓音比较单薄，我听她唱高音区时有时会有这样的感觉，不过她的几段袁派唱段倒是很醇厚的，不知是音高不同呢，还是两派发声的方法不同？可惜我自己不擅此道，其中的奥妙始终弄不明白。
剧中其他演员的表演也都很到位，谢群英的表演相当老辣，还有那个陈雪萍，原来她这么早就出道了啊，还一直以为是新人，惭愧！这拨人当时应该都是十几二十来岁吧，表演上感觉都算比较成熟，压得住台了。她们这批演员还是比较幸运的，文革之后，百废待新，演出也多，各项活动也多，观众也有热情，就冒出来了。现在的新人要达到她们的成就，恐怕不易了。不过上越似乎还是比较重视青年演员的培养的，演出也不少。观众也好像蛮支持的，前天我去看《盘夫》，满座！在门口还有人问我买票子，这样的情形可能近年来也是不多的吧！几位演员唱得也不错，尤其是张宇峰，很有曹银娣的味道。不过表演上好像还欠火候，不够稳笃。我还是喜欢仰萍她们这辈，到底成熟。看仰萍演戏时，不急不徐，很稳健，节奏很好，轻重缓急，游刃有余！这可能跟我们上公开课有点像吧，像我们年轻教师临阵经验少，紧张，生怕漏了哪个环节，所以一上来就赶，把一个个环节赶紧扔出去，扔完就好，控制力就不够了。还是要多考验考验的好。
放假在家，闲来无事，最好多放几出这样不易看到的戏，也好长进长进：）看到网上说仰萍要演西施的折子，真是太好了！最好全场就更好了，好像有点贪心，不过应该有机会吧？！

总的来说，我是蛮喜欢这出戏的，尤其是看多了尔虞我诈、富丽堂皇的宫庭戏，欣赏过了不少亲亲我我的爱情颂歌后，感觉其就是山乡吹来的一股清风，很淳朴。整出戏的环境很宁静，幽幽的青山，潺潺的流水，导演也没有用过多的手法来渲染，画面比较明亮开朗。80年代的电影多有这种氛围，如今的作品手法多了，反倒看得我头晕眼花的，像张艺谋的那部《有话好好说》似的，简直就看不下去，头痛啊！不过新锐导演大多喜欢创新啊：）
言归正传，这个戏内容不多，剧情并不复杂，但衔接地很紧凑，对人物的刻画也很细致，想来从舞台剧到拍成电影应该也经历了一个磨合修改的过程了。演大龙的那个演员不错，她的表演可算是一个亮点，表演自然生动，唱腔高亢明亮，倒是蛮像一个敦实的山乡孩子的。不同年龄阶段用不同的演员来饰是比较合理的，较之以往看的很多戏曲片中的以大充小的表演要舒服多了。看她的年龄应该也不会比仰萍小很多，不过的确蛮可爱，蛮像男孩子的。
仰萍的表演自然是不能不提的，不过我这里纯属班门弄斧：）好像有个共识，认为表演是她的强项，也确是如此，单从她早年的这部戏中也可见一斑。让一个年轻的姑娘来饰演十多岁大的孩子的母亲，行么？这可能是很多人未看之前有过的担心，但是从剧中的表演看来，她是胜任的。她天生的温柔与贤良让她演起这样的角色来还是很有说服力的，更何况有之前《绣花女传奇》的经验，应是轻车熟路了。气质这种东西真是蛮奥妙的，烙印在你的骨子里了。
她的表演比较细腻（纯属废话，大家都知道，哈……），对细节的刻画很注意，喜欢她吱呀吱呀织布的样子，举手投足俨然一副农家女的样子；喜欢她大龙走后在林中焦急又茫然的神情，叫我的心也跟着揪紧；喜欢她让二龙认亲娘时的表情，那是一种怎样的释然和朴素的情怀啊！喜欢她与大龙重逢时细微变化的表情，让人感觉到她的认真与细致。当然年轻也有稚嫩的地方，这也是很难免的。比如在观音庙中开始的一段唱和得知毒酒后在小径中的表演好像舞台味较重，不过这是个人的看法了，可能不同的人对越剧影视剧表演的虚实性上会有不同的理解了，这是另一个问题了。仰萍的唱我是一直以来都很喜欢的，较之王老师的多了份委婉雅致、典雅悠远。有人认为她的嗓音比较单薄，我听她唱高音区时有时会有这样的感觉，不过她的几段袁派唱段倒是很醇厚的，不知是音高不同呢，还是两派发声的方法不同？可惜我自己不擅此道，其中的奥妙始终弄不明白。
剧中其他演员的表演也都很到位，谢群英的表演相当老辣，还有那个陈雪萍，原来她这么早就出道了啊，还一直以为是新人，惭愧！这拨人当时应该都是十几二十来岁吧，表演上感觉都算比较成熟，压得住台了。她们这批演员还是比较幸运的，文革之后，百废待新，演出也多，各项活动也多，观众也有热情，就冒出来了。现在的新人要达到她们的成就，恐怕不易了。不过上越似乎还是比较重视青年演员的培养的，演出也不少。观众也好像蛮支持的，前天我去看《盘夫》，满座！在门口还有人问我买票子，这样的情形可能近年来也是不多的吧！几位演员唱得也不错，尤其是张宇峰，很有曹银娣的味道。不过表演上好像还欠火候，不够稳笃。我还是喜欢仰萍她们这辈，到底成熟。看仰萍演戏时，不急不徐，很稳健，节奏很好，轻重缓急，游刃有余！这可能跟我们上公开课有点像吧，像我们年轻教师临阵经验少，紧张，生怕漏了哪个环节，所以一上来就赶，把一个个环节赶紧扔出去，扔完就好，控制力就不够了。还是要多考验考验的好。
放假在家，闲来无事，最好多放几出这样不易看到的戏，也好长进长进：）看到网上说仰萍要演西施的折子，真是太好了！最好全场就更好了，好像有点贪心，不过应该有机会吧？！

I find this kind of storyline quite touching. There isn't romance linked to this story though. However I feel that it would be nice to perform this show on stage. I bet all mothers cum aunties will be TOUCHED till tears. ^^

虽然电影画面时旧了些，但是觉得相当不错的戏。1986年的作品。
剧情简介

First Singing Appointment
Supreme One got mixed up with the date. It was supposed to be yesterday but she thought that I fixed it today instead. So she was not around when I reached KH before 3pm.
Smsed her and she called back and told me that she had gotten the date mixed up. She would rush back as soon as possible.
The KH uncle opened the door to let me in. I continued with my work and even dozed off.
She came back at around 5plus. We started to practise singing and in between had some conversations on KH matters.
She said that she was happy to see us so ON especially YA who came almost everyday to practise her 1000miles.
(YA has to cos it is her first time leading in this new full-length show with TOP.)
Supreme One even added that TOP took it as a challenge in this role and was keen to learn. Furthermore TOP is also ON and it makes her happy. (LOL)
So we continued till almost 7pm.
YA came before 7pm and asked me a very funny question. She asked why I was so early.
Maybe she was worried that I might eat into her precious practice time which I didn't intend to. Top arrived and as usual we just ignored each other. (LOL)
Maybe my one leg spilt pissed her off on Sunday. (LOL)
Well, not just a Sunday, I think I have pissed her off for years and most probably I may continue to piss her off further. (LOL)
Waiting for WMY to come back from her study leave, the amount of "attention" that I get from TOP may reduce. (LOL)

Appointments
Recently the KHers are in the frenzy of making appointments with the Supreme One for practices. Some have fixed dates and some have to make arrangements.
I overheard two dans talking in my car over which date to book.
Dan 1: I shall take Tuesday and guess that you have to take Thursday.
Dan 2: I call up my sheng to confirm which day we are fine with it.
Dan 1: I'm going to book 2 days. One for myself and one for combi.
Driver ~ speechless......
Anyway Driver Amai already booked this afternoon for a singing session because she has no super duper memory and needs the afternoon to revise her old singing lines. (LOL)
Sometimes, the Dan Dan Talk really can drive you crazy...(LOL)

One Leg Spilt
Just saw XJ's blog and I am going to declare that the naughty member is ME despite of SPIES as SPIES are everywhere!(LOL)
I just had it from them in KH last Sunday but I have made my stand clear to the Supreme One already. So I hope that they will watch what they said next time......(Fat Hope, rite? LOL)
But I must clarify one point. One leg spilt is one of my Chinese Opera targets. Top has to practise it because it is essential in her new role.
In addition, she is also delibrate enough to show us that she is working hard on it.
One funny incident was that I was reading my book and TOP stood in front of me, stretching off her two crooked "side" legs in front of the mirror. Very disrupting right? So Naughty Amai put down her thriller and went to the other side next to TOP and stretched straighter legs.
TOP got pissed and walked away. Naughty Amai smiled pleasantly and went back and buried her nose in the book.
As you see, I am such a warm-hearted sheng to Dan XJ, (hehe)because I am also accompanying XJ practising this skill. ^^
Actually, able to do a one leg spilt is NO BIG DEAL! Mine is still shaky and you should see ML's.
She is super duper and can do both legs. She is better than any of the KH dancers.
Just that no one realises that a small small photographer cum backstage crew has such potential.
I encourage ML to join our dancing class. It would be good exercise for her and also to join in the fun.

Comments
I don't know what happen to me. Recently I have been saying the "wrong" type of comments. Comments that may cause misunderstandings and get me into trouble.
The relationship between TOP and me is rather icy. We don't quarrel nor do we interact like "good" friends. We are just "troupemates".
Someone wondered whether if you are on good terms with TOP and be nice to her, do and talk the nice nice stuff, Leader may be a happier woman.
I can't bring myself to such a pretentious state. I will look down on myself if I do such an act. I don't need this kind of act to "earn" me a role. I earn my role via my hard work and effort.
I don't believe in such "strategies" to go and win people over though I saw in my eyes some people do that to get them into favourable situations.
I have nothing against TOP as long as no small acts are done to hurt or discourage me. Just leave me alone and I will be a happier gal. (LOL)
These frustrations aren't inbuilt in just one night just like the roman empire isn't built overnight.
Perhaps these may be just assumptions. However it may have some streaks of truths in it.
XJ said that my main problem is my attitude because I have a quick temper and a sharp tongue.
My comments embarrass them and hence make them defensive.(I think)
I find difficult to be a fake nice gal as I myself dislike fakes. (LOL)
Reality in life is so so vastly different.
I must have dream too much.
My anger become self-inflicted pain.
Guess my friends don't wish to see me in such a situation. (Sighz)

第一课好长，很多理论和例子。听到我雾刹刹。
不过，上课是必要的，毕竟唱对戏曲表演来说还是最重要的。
虽然老师对我的唱腔的评语目前还可以，但是我绝对不能也不会掉以轻心。

Bandit Amai
I did not receive the KH letter and almost everyone has already gotten their letters. I was told that in one of the ON shows, I was given a cast - a bandit. What name? No name as it is a minor role who gets defeated after a fight with the lead. (LOL)
It is fine with me as this role allows me to have an aim. ^^
It allows me to exercise more. You don't expect a bandit to just stand there aside like ordinary maids... We are expected to "fight" the lead with weapons...
I even asked for a copy of the DVD and the Lady Lead told me not to look at the ex-bandits because they were lousy in their movements...
Perhaps her words set me thinking ... I better exercise if not she may "bestow" me with the same line behind my back. (LOL)
If not may be more "dynamic" by carrying tales to the Supreme One. (LOL)
There isn't no smoke without a fire. Recently a small "fire" broke out last week and thus I smelt the "smoke" and managed to "extinguish" it. (LOL)
For two days, I have been using my staircase banister and Dad was horrified. He discouraged me from using it because he was worried that the staircase may "shake" after some time. It sounds crappy to me. I just ignored him. (LOL)
If I don't exercise, my bandit role may "shake" instead. (LOL)

Dan Influenza
Recently there is a new virus that is only found within KH's four walls.
It's known as the Dan Influenza. The dans are always on their two little feet. In another words, it simply means the dans are ON!
The virus is getting stronger and stronger. The dans are getting more and more kiasu.
One comes down almost everyday and plays with her long white sleeves.
One learns her role fast and one worries sick because she has limited time.
Besides the dans, one different virus just wanna make sure that her "one word horse" is successful for her role.
May the Supreme One bless them all. (LOL)

Feedback On Jap Drama
I finished the Japanese Drama - I want to learn Ballet.
These are the feedback that I obtained from the website.
黑木瞳graduated from Takarazuka and was a Lady TOP in Moon Troupe.
There is another actress who acted a supporting role in this show. She was also from Takarazuka Moon Troupe, a Lady Top too. She is Kurara, Rika's Stage Partner. ^^
No wonder I find her so familiar and kept insisting that she looks like Kurara. (LOL)
蛮有励志性的连续剧，我喜欢此剧的地方有很多，像是：
一、黑木瞳和中森明菜之间的对话，让我看了很感动，真想多看几次。
二、很难想像四十多岁的人跳芭蕾舞的样子，不过黑木瞳在剧中跳芭蕾的样子很生动，其他人也不例外。不过我个人认为剧中的仓桥遥生真的很认真去练习，也做得非常好，数一数二，不会输给其他人。
三、剧中的万田高太郎一开始也一度反对他太太跳芭蕾舞，最后不但答应她去练习，甚至全家一起出动，真的可以说是温馨家庭。
虽然此剧的收视率没有想像中的好，各位可不要被这些数字给骗了，不管怎样，强力推荐「芭蕾舞蹈家」，值得一看再看。可以说是轻松的优质日剧，偶尔换个题材来看也是很棒的喔！

她在剧里是饰演一个很喜欢芭蕾的主妇
很难想像40多岁的人跳起芭蕾的样子，不过她在里面跳的还真好
而且她和中森明菜的友谊也让我好感动喔
所以想看一部轻松日剧的人，不要忘了这一部喔

説真的 对于黑木妈妈的印象 都是高贵的妇人阿
可是这部片真的是会对他改观
一个四十几岁的欧巴桑 他真的是演活了...
看了这部片就会发现..原来黑木瞳也有平易近人的样子阿^^
另外还值得一提的就是古田新太 对于他 就是一个怪怪的大叔
可是在这部片里面 刚开始看真的会对他跟黑木瞳的配对觉得怪怪的
可是他再里面 虽然嘴巴很坏 可是却是一个温柔的爸爸
虽然一度的反对黑木妈妈跳芭蕾 可是最后却比谁都热衷^^
是一个很好的爸爸喔....^^ 值得推荐给大家看看

目前春季档看了诈欺猎人、七人女律师、爱上丑女，而我最喜欢这一部！
黑木瞳演得真好，活脱脱就是一个欧巴桑；古田新太也把歇斯底里的爸爸诠释的很好，他在发飙那一幕真的很令人讨厌；然后配角通通都是应底子演员，比如说饰演热爱芭蕾的速食店店长加藤雅也以及保险销售员高冈早纪，还有神田宇乃，虽然这次又演个性糟糕的女人，但是跳芭蕾那边真是让人眼睛为之一亮！
最后是中森明菜。虽然明菜姐姐的妆还颇恐怖（那个眼影），但我真爱她说话的语调啊！温柔地说出冷血的话语，Akina最高！
剧情走向其实猜想得到，但我就爱这种芭乐味，春季律师戏看腻的话，换个口味也是不错的唷^^

另外还值得一提的就是古田新太 对于他 就是一个怪怪的大叔
可是在这部片里面 刚开始看真的会对他跟黑木瞳的配对觉得怪怪的
可是他再里面 虽然嘴巴很坏 可是却是一个温柔的爸爸
虽然一度的反对黑木妈妈跳芭蕾 可是最后却比谁都热衷^^
是一个很好的爸爸喔....^^ 值得推荐给大家看看

目前春季档看了诈欺猎人、七人女律师、爱上丑女，而我最喜欢这一部！
黑木瞳演得真好，活脱脱就是一个欧巴桑；古田新太也把歇斯底里的爸爸诠释的很好，他在发飙那一幕真的很令人讨厌；然后配角通通都是应底子演员，比如说饰演热爱芭蕾的速食店店长加藤雅也以及保险销售员高冈早纪，还有神田宇乃，虽然这次又演个性糟糕的女人，但是跳芭蕾那边真是让人眼睛为之一亮！
最后是中森明菜。虽然明菜姐姐的妆还颇恐怖（那个眼影），但我真爱她说话的语调啊！温柔地说出冷血的话语，Akina最高！
剧情走向其实猜想得到，但我就爱这种芭乐味，春季律师戏看腻的话，换个口味也是不错的唷^^

7年前的贾宝玉，声音还未成长。
其实演这戏真得很苦，加上短时期减肥外加来自不同因素的压力等等。。。
身子身心真的好疲累，搞到唱腔乱七八糟，有心无力似的。
7年后的我已经慢慢成长，虽然戏曲之路还很漫长，只要有这份对戏曲执著的心，路虽难走，还是要坚持走下去。
这小片段可要好好地看，有很大的惊喜，你会看到汪小生难得的小旦哟。呵呵~~~

I Want To Learn Ballet
Hahahahahahahaha....still.......
I prefer my Chinese Opera. ^^
I am currently watching a Jap Drama - I Want To Learn Ballet
It is a very nice show. Housewife Kana San started to learn ballet at the age of 44. Since young, she loves ballet. She used to learn ballet but has to give up because her dad's factory went bankrupt. She has to give up her dream of becoming a professional ballerina then.
She enrols herself in a class and learns ballet from scratch.She has to juggle with her family, her part-time job and her class. Though she is busy with daily routines, she is happy to dance after her work. Her classmates are just like her who come from different backgrounds. They are amatuers and yet they have great passion to pursue their dreams - Ballet.
I like this show because it is touching. It reminds me of my passion towards Chinese Opera. The more you like, the more you won't want to give up.
As long as your passion and determination is with you, you will shine one day!
Believe in yourself , you can make it one day! ^^

Fangyuan's Hokkien Opera
I have seen this troupe when I went to Zhangzhou two years back.
Teacher Yang called up the troupe mistress and asked her to leave two seats for us.
She left two centre front seats and we could see the actresses very clearly.
The actresses are very young and Director Wu told me that Fangyuan is the best 民间剧团 in Zhangzhou.
AC, is Fangyuan considered as a professional or an amatuer troupe?

One more "good" news on Monday Blue......
Is that San Feng is "dropped"!!!!!!!!!!
Other 2 shows are replaced......
Well, what more can I say?
I feel like questioning the Authority on what grounds San Feng has to be dropped?
But after questioning, will I jeopardise myself further?

But haven't I cried enough already?

Monday Blue
I went home earlier compared to last Sunday.
Though we continued our gossip session while eating our dinner, ML reminded us to go home on time. (LOL)
Yet, I had some difficulty in sleeping...
My mum came into my room in the middle of the night to check on my air-con.
I think she is being paranoid of air-con on for the whole night. I told her that I set the timer but she still woke up in the middle of the night to check on the status of the air-con.
Isn't she crappy? (Head shaking)
I don't like to accumulate my work and if I can, I will try to finish it within the day. Perhaps this gave me a headache cos I pushed myself so tight. (LOL)
Practically, I leave my weekends and hols for KH. I seldom bring my work there to do. Even if I do, I find it nothing wrong as TOP always does her work there.
But I am a "less-privileged" being, I was hinted not to do my work there. (LOL)
I have not received the KH Letter yet. Already I have heard from XJ the "comical" lines and had a good laugh at them last night.
Rehearsals start this week. Someone already started on dieting and she won't eat after 6pm.
Well, have you ever heard of a chinese saying...Laugh at the Poor rather than the prostitutes...
In KH, there is a line that I created thru personal experience...Laugh at the Obese rather than the courtesans...(LOL)

Vented Anger
I had dinner with ML, XJ and YN after the basic movement class.
We talked cheerfully and enjoyed our chicken rice.
However when the topic was on TOP, I couldn't help it but to "vent" out my frustration and anger.
I know this time round, she gets to lead in most shows as usual.
I'm kind of getting used to such.
I don't like to fight and I don't "scheme" around for roles.
Just that I have tolerated enough unfairness all these years.
You can't stop me from improving because I do make an effort to improve with minimal KH supervision.
You can't stop me from singing by cutting my lines.
You can't blame me from having such a "defiant" and "unfriendly" attitude because it has been "inbuilt" by factors.
All these years, I have comforted myself that I can do it, I can make it even with minimal support. I must believe in myself...I must have confidence in myself.
Don't stamp on me further because such act will never make me a follower.

She is a Qi-style huadan and I like the way she sings.
I think she sings better than her teacher. ^^
My Opera Treasures
A messy sight whenever I search for a particular disc. ^^
Halfway through, still searching for this particular disc. I can always can't remember where I put the exact location. They are just over the place though I remember faintly that I have such a show. (LOL)
Finally, I found it and it's time to repack everything into its place. ^^ But the arrangement won't be the same anymore. However......
As long as the door can be closed and "hide" the messy sight, is good enough for me. (LOL)

Showtimes @ ML's Place
So far only YN "registered" for today's showtimes @ ML's place. ^^
Guess the rest were too busy occupied and XJ mentioned that she would love to go but the arrangement was too last minute.
YN requested to watch Koju's Nova Bossa Nova. Wow...I was surprised when she asked for this show. It was a good choice that she had made in fact.
Besides this show, I arranged a GZX and a Yueju as well. ^^
ML cooked her hometown cuisine - Heng Hwa Noodles & Chilli La La. Yummy yummy. I like to watch shows at ML's place because it is always so comfy and if ML is in the mood to cook, I get to eat nice nice food.
After the viewing sessions, ML took some pictures for us in her little studio. It was fun. ^^
Nice right? Bobo looks as if he is advertising for that sparkling juice. ^^
YN looks like a milkmaid, right. Now no longer kitchen maid yozz. (LOL)

I went to FR's Blog and saw a picture of a male dan. I think he looks pretty. Look at the makeup, so clean and clear. I like the lips drawn especially. The shape is nice.
You hardly come across a male dan that really looks good. So far I have only seen a few, not many though.
Personally I can't stand impersonated dans unless they really look good. (LOL)
Similarly, I can't stand "Ah Gua" Shengs too. Too girlish a sheng makes my flesh crawl.
I may be girlish offstage but I definitely won't fall under the category of an "Ah Gua" Sheng...(LOL)

Another Hokkien Opera From China
Actually I have quite a few hokkien operas from China. ML first bought them when she went to XM few years back. I got most of them from ZZ.
I like the music...The music is nice though not many actors sing very well.
Basically I think Xiangju is not an easy genre to sing.
Red Wine Party
The "Long Time No See" WMY made her appearance last night. She came after her course and arrived at my house before midnight.
XJ arrived earlier though she was still late. She was supposed to come at nine and we were not at all surprised that she would be late again. (LOL)
My mum was in a happy mood because she loves to have visitors coming over to my house. My brother joined in the fun too. I think my mum feels that my brother will be in good hands. (LOL)
The best thing was that she let me on the air-con and she didn't complain a single bit unlike as usual. (LOL)

A Hokkien Opera
This show was introduced to my by AC many years back.
AC bought it from China if I am not wrong.
Personally I find this show quite nice and when I saw it on the shelf in ZZ, I just bought it without much hesitation. ^^
Some of them don't sing that squeaky.
I think the dan in the clip sang quite okie..at least not that squeaky. ^^
Did u notice the baddie sheng? You seldom come across a china xiaosheng with such a gruffy voice...(LOL)
Loan Book
I finally found my precious loan book!!!!!
It has been with me since 1999.
Though the pages have started to turn yellowish in age, I still want to keep the book.
I shall continue with the book.
Of course there are still some "Not Returned" entries and one dated as long as 2003.
In a way, I can dish out those "dishonourable" borrowers and "condemn" them. (LOL)

Our Next Series Of Performances
Hurray!!! We have one week of break before we start on multiple rehearsals for these shows.
The casts are not out yet.
But one thing for sure, TOP is always TOP......
Perhaps it may come as another disappointment to me just like the first one last year.
Well, I am not the only one in the same boat. (LOL)
Just make sure that the boat you are in is strong enough to carry you against the strong currents. ^^

Wawasheng Amai Again
Huge and gigantic......
Especially my lanky legs......
They look so so so....long........
Well, I have already tried my very best as a wawasheng...
Can't fault me since I am tall and look taller than the rest......
But heard from XJ, SJF may have to go into the "wardrobe" for quite some time......
More "homework" for us during the 2nd quarter of the year.

Dance Basics + Dinner
Quite a number participated in yesterday's Dance Basic Class. It was quite fun as most of us danced, skipped, jumped and laughed our way through the whole 2-hour session.
The highlight of the class was to pracise on our spilt.
The dancers can split of course but not the opera actresses...(LOL)
Some are getting there in fact, guess we have to try harder to get one perfect split.
YN and XJ wore the wrong attire and hence they had some difficulties doing the spilt.
TOP is a regular in Basic Dance Class unlike LAZY ME.
Leader looked pleased to see so many of us attending the class. I am looking forward to Zhuang Pa Pa's singing class. It may be held on Sunday. No details as yet.
We had Ah Mei's tea and roti prata at our usual favourite haunt. We knocked off at half past 8 and you know what?
The amazing thing was that we chatted and gossiped till MIDNIGHT!!!
About 3 hours of eating and talking......Gosh, time really flew!!!
The worst thing that happened was....the tea kept me awake!!!!!
I am having a headache now and am going home to rest!!!
Next time, please...someone...be a nice time-watcher and remind me not to chat that long on a Sunday night....
