I am picking up reading again especially now is hols.

Have been reading on and off recently but hope to read more during the hols.

Will be meeting Shanice later in the day.

She wanna buy crocs and we will be going for the Book Fest at Suntec.

After that, wanna go and drink TW Bubble Tea - Koi.

Shanice is so funny, she told me that she dreamt about Koi selling at West Mall but was disappointed when she woke up.

We are going to Bishan library in the evening. Shanice is an avid reader and she wants to borrow some books. I want to look for Kelvin Lewis' books.

I am now at its last segment and would like to finish the book so that I can go on with my next book.

My little nephew - Baby Matthias

He was born yesterday, he has the same birthday as Shanice! (LOL)

I only got to see him in the evening today after my afternoon nap.

I was so tired and wasn't too well when I came home in the afternoon.

Instead of waiting for Baby Matthias to come home, I dozed off.

Mum came in at around 7plus to wake me up. She "jio" me to go and see Baby Matthias.

My parents are very happy, they are so proud especially my mum.

She has been telling me about Baby Matthias.

"Baby is so pretty! His skin is so good unlike newborn babies whose skin's so red and scrawny. You know why, cos the mummy ate korean jinseng, bird nests and lots of vitamins.............."

"Baby's birdie is so pretty...blah..blah...blah..."

(Er...why my mum said that? To me...I just can't picture why she uses "pretty" to describe that thing? Obviously my mum is 重男輕女! This is one thing that I am very certain of)

You know what was my very first question about Baby Matthias?

I asked my mum whether Baby Matthias has eye brows. (LOL)

My mum reported that he has nice eyebrows and alot of hair on his head.

See..see...What a proud grandma she is!



This was the first picture that I took with FLASH. And you know what happen next?

He jumped then I jumped too. I think the flash must have "shocked" him. (LOL)

But his eyes were closed and how did he know that a flash had occured?

I think she is very strong and healthy (She went to gym even though she was heavily pregnant.)
Look at her, as per normal. Now she can sit on a chair.
She only sat on a round rubber float yesterday cos she just had her stitches.
Only a day, she can sit without the float.

"Matthais" means "Gift of GOD"

My parents' having some difficulties trying to pronounce the name. (LOL)

I told them...never mind lah...just call him "阿俊”with a lah at the back in Hokkien.

Kash is afraid of Baby Matthias' balloons...This humongous dog is so lousy, he dislikes balloon and is totally freaked out when he sees balloons.

I don't blame him though. When Kash was little, he played with a balloon and suddenly the balloon burst and he got the shock of his life. From then onwards, he refused to go near any floating objects.

I wonder how would Kash react if he sees Baby Matthias.

Should be gentle yozz I think... (If so, what is XJ so scared of Kash? Haha, you are so much bigger than Baby Matthias yozz. )

For your info, Chen is a Teochew Opera artiste. This is the first time I heard him sing Gezaixi...

Amazingly, he sang quite well... though his hokkien still has some Teochew accent.

If a Teochew opera artiste can sing GZX ....

We must really brush up in our singing...

Sunday morning...not so sunny to me...

Sms friends...but not one of them replied so far...

Wanna do work... uncertain to start and not motivated to start...

The deafening sound of the vacuum cleaner in the living room is driving me crazy!

Brother A is calling to Kash again, one moment in a caring tone, the next moment shouting at him for no good reason. He will be going to China soon with his newly married wife...Haha...But he is quite apprehensive towards the living conditions in his wife's hometown. Heard that he has to go to the river to bathe and there is hardly a public bus to the centre of the town unless he hitches a ride from a friendly neighbour.

Brother A is a cleanliness freak...He can't stand places that are too dirty (to his standards of course)

Kash is recovering from "dunnowat" illness. He has been quite lethargic the last few days, not able to eat well and rather inactive. This isn't quite like him because he is the most ADHD dog in the whole wide world.

He is now getting more active and in no time, you will get to see a flying dog here and there in the living room.

Brother B is going to be a father soon. His wife is about to give birth anytime this week. He wants a girl but he is getting a little boy instead. I think he is disappointed...cuz boys are naughtier naturally compared to girls..(his theory)..

Well...no matter what the gender is, is his child. He has to accept yozz.

Mum is also recovering from a bad flu...She passed the germs to my dad... Then to my dog??? I am not certain... (LOL)

Then Brother B got it...He's down with a bad cough...But he never take a day of MC...

Never take MC, no doubt is good. But I rather he be more filial and understanding towards our parents...I think he will know how parents feel eventually because he is going to be one soon.

As for me....I want to get out of the blue mood leh...

Aching Again

Woke up with aches all over again!

It's peak season again at work.

Lots of things to do and handle.

KH is embarking on a series of performances and SHE announced that we are going to have 14 performances in July!

Isn't that impressive!!! (shrieks) (LOL)

(That would mean MORE rehearsals are expected.)

In June, we have about 3 performances... and they are kind of evenly spaced out...

(That would mean you can't plan for a hol long enough to destress. This can be despressing, right?)

In fact, next week is going to be a busier week than the previous one.

I don't think I can relax that much... Still have lots of things to do during the hols.

Have been using salonpas on my shoulder and back...This morning used another patch on my thigh...I sprained it last night...-_- Sighz...

I have not been sleeping well with all the aches since ??? . Sighz...quite some time already...

TW Version Of 真假駙馬

They changed the setting to a tribal background and some of its storyline differ from the original version.

The princess married the younger twin brother without knowing his identity. The elder brother fell into a cliff during a war in an attempt to save his twin brother.

I think I have neglected alot about Yueju info and stuff.

I got the news from ML who thought that I knew that Wu Fenghua had already given birth to a baby boy!!!

So I searched the net and I realised that she had given birth on the 30th of Jan this year.

The amazing news is that ML told me that Wu is already acting since end of April.

Huh... so fast?

Look at their costumes and especially the hairdos...

They are so much "developed" now.

Can you tell the difference between the 2 twin brothers?

I think they did make an effort in trying to differentiate the brothers.

Look at the brothers' hairdo, gestures and also the most specific part is the way that the actor sings.

For our Xiangju, is it possible for us to have a different style of singing just like the Yueju???

Zhangzhou Xiangju Troupe's Gao Wen Ying

This is the older version of Gao Wen Ying with some different casts.

However I like the little kid in this version rather than the one that I saw at GCB last month. This kid is so much cuter and livelier

Xu Yuxiang acted the flirtatious Missy instead of Yang Xiaoyi.

Er I don't remember Lan Haibin wore a beard when I watched their live performance.
I was thinking how come he didn't seem to age after he got separated from his wife for about a decade. By right, he should have a beard...



The insane lady in blue isn't Yang Yuexia. AC, she was the dan that you like but I forgot what's her name. She has already switched profession, no longer an opera actress but a clerk.

Personally I feel Lu Yihong can sing very well.

I used to find 三蓋衣 a very boring excerpt. It's only when I heard this segment then I realise that the song mermerises me alot.

Though my troupe acted this show before, in fact quite a few times and we are going to perform again, I only like the last part (送鳳冠）(熱鬧場面喲）

Too bad I didn't manage to catch any of her shows when the ZZ troupe was here last month.

However I heard that she wasn't suitable for the role of Qin Xianglian.

One of the reasons was that she looks much older for the role.

Several years ago, I went to Zhangzhou to pay them a visit.

I only got to visit the troupe leader's wife (The Sheng in white). Both the troupe leader and his wife treated us to a sumptuous seafood feast which I was not able to finish. ;P

The troupe leader's wife gave me six sets of their vcds and I combed the next four sets in Zhangzhou.

I found more of their new shows in the web. Apparently they have produced new titles.

I'm going to get my friend to help me to search for more Xiangju titles.

Oh ya...back to the main topic...

My Head Throbs!!!

Reading the script alone really is a torture!

Gosh, the words are so so so......not at all nice.

Thought that words are supposed to be beautiful...

I have been complaining since the day I started to translate.

Perhaps I am so used to the beautifully-illustrated words that I am exposed to.

Anyway, I am not going to continue the translation, I want to give my poor head a rest.

The headache is gnawing my brain cells away...
