Some Afterthoughts Of Being A Dan

I did a maid role last night because one of the maids went to TW for hols.

XJ msg me late last night and I only got to read it this morning. She said that I must try the costumes so that I could get to wear the one that fit me. In a way, she is not wrong.

There are also some afterthoughts after what I have been through last night being a "temp" dan...

1) You need to have your own WIG!!! Don't ever think of getting to use 公用 because those stuff are usually "hogged" by regulars. As time goes by, it becomes "officially" theirs. As a "temp" dan, I somehow can't seem to voice out that I want to use because I would get answers like "I need it", "I'm acting this this this, I need to use it." etc. Only the very obsolete or the beyond repair type of wig stays on the shelf unless you don't mind to use it. (Which I don't think anyone would want to use it because everyone wants to look pretty, a universal truth that can't be denied.)

2) Be a very good friend with Someone with “私家貨”. I am not suggesting that you take advantage of this situation, it is a fact that your good friend won't mind lending you the accessories. No one is OBLIGED to lend you stuff, it is out of goodwill that people agree to lend you.
However I don't feel good always asking for favours. It is not easy to ask in the first place. (For my case)
Perhaps I am being too sensitive, sometimes I feel that I am on a trial waiting for a sentence to pass onto me whether my request will be "accepted" or "rejected". Sometimes I get questioned why I want to borrow this or borrow that, sometimes it isn't easy to explain cuz it is complicated. If there are other alternatives, I would rather think of ways to solve my problem than to bother others. Just that simply I have no choice, nobody to turn to, then I ask for help...

3) Weigh your chances. If you have a higher chance of being a dan and a good purchasing power and also vain enough, BUY YOUR OWN!!! If not, don't think and ask too much, make do with the existing things available.

4) Do not "outgrow" your costumes. I always have this SLIM problem. I need to go on DIET in order to fit into the dan costumes and I hate it! I couldn't fit into the pink costume and I saw HER smile that irritating smile which I know she was laughing at me again. I shall REMEMBER that, I WON"T FORGET!

5) I better go get a pair of decent earrings just in case I need them. DON'T TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED.

6) Check n Plan your stuff to be 萬無一失．　自誤自負，　you bear your own consequences.

Enough of the above.

I hardly involve myself into Dan Business because I don't do dan often and that's why I overlooked certain things. After last night's experience, I have a better idea how to manage my "temp" dan next time.

Last but not least, I want to extend my gratefulness to those who helped me last night. Gestures of concern, a little hair accessory, some private hairpieces did help me alot. :)

Eee PC

Nope, I don't have the extra cash to get this baby. I redeemed it yesterday because i recontracted my Singtel internet.

Eee PC is indeed small and handy though it doesn't have any dvd drive. You need to get a portable one if you want to watch dvd on Eee PC.

At the moment I am quite happy to have it what it is. No intention of getting any extra accessories, no intention of going elsewhere for hols. Even now, I am learning how to take public transport like Mrt and Buses, Cabs are out of question for me too.

Now is recession and I need to keep some money for rainy days and most probably I can only save more after clearing my debts and some other comnmittments.

Waiting for the sky to drop money for me...heeheehee...Yeah, sleep early and dream about it.

Headache

Having throbbing headache since Monday. Suspected caused by sinus. My nose has this tingling feeling that doesn't seem to go away, irritating to the bones.

When I touch the bridge of my nose, I can hear popping sounds inside the nose.. It seems to have something but no matter how I try, nothing seems to come out.

I am going to put some medicated oil and it will ease the condition a little.

There is a performance tomorrow and hope that my headache would go away as soon as possible.

Xu is really a legend, no wonder she still maintains her popularity. I wouldn't classify Xu as one of my favourite dans, in fact I prefer yueju dans more than any GZX dans.

I still prefer the old version and I think it is still a classic.

Though I have not really watched Yang's latest version(DVD), somehow I am still taken aback by its script which was taken years ago and performed by a local amatuer troupe, the script isn't as refined as the TV version.

Li Jing Fang's TW Opera Album

Highly recommended, Li is the troupe leader of Mingzhu's TW Troupe. I first noticed her when she played "Dou er" in Summer Snow.

My Late Grandparents

2 weeks ago, my cousin had her 21st birthday. I saw this picture in her laptop when her friends threw a surprise party for her showing her growing up pictures in a movie clip.

When I first saw this picture, my heart missed a beat. I felt happy and sad at the same time when I saw my late grandparents in the clip. I uttered ，“阿公阿嫲！”。

My parents and my brother were there too. My brother said that when he saw the picture, he had this heartpain. I understood what he meant cuz I had the same heartpain too.

Needless to say, my parents felt it too.

I "harassed" my cousin that she must email the picture to me. The two little girls in the picture are my cousins. I realised that they didn't really change much especially evon. (sitting on my grandfather's lap）

That living room, I used to live in when I was little, a place that I lived in throughout my primary school days and most of my secondary school days.

My dear dear grandparents, I love you very very much!!!

Thank you for looking after me when I was little. I was a naughty little brat then. I am still a brat now ... (LOL)

A Year Has Almost Passed

Heard that there will be a small cake (or rather half a cake, maybe a quarter?) waiting for me tonight.

Too bad I won't be there to witness it to be eaten. I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who remember especially when most of them forgotten last year.

It used to be a big deal to me, something that I look forward to. Just some kind and sincere wishes would make me happy and joyful the whole day long.

I used to take my parents especially my mum for granted. I focus more attention on my friends. You don't need an army of friends to remember, they won't unless you are some popular stars...(LOL)...

At least my mum never forgets my special day...of course there are still some friends out there who care.

I am not alone, not a forgotten being. There are people who care about me, it's me who forgets them.

Cape No 7

I gotten this review from the Yahoo Movie on Cape No. 7.

It is highly recommended by a TW friend.

Perhaps you may watch to give it a try. The movie will be releasing on the 27th this month.

Shabu Shabu

I have eaten Shabu Shabu when I was in Taiwan. It was so delicious and I have been looking for something similar here but to no avail.
