Cool Runnings
Years ago, a lecturer showed us snippets of the movie "Cool Runnings".
The movie was inspired by the true story of Jamaica's first Olympic bobsled team.
The four Jamaicans left their sunny tropical island to enter the chilly Winter Olympic Games to pursue an impossible dream.
They did very well though they stumbled along the way and didn't get to the finishing line as their bobsled overturned in the midst of the final race.
They got out of their bobsled and carried it to the finishing line.
The crowd cheered them on and they returned to the country as heroes.
I stumbled along my path of Opera...losing confidence and carried my anger and frustrations with me.
Even if I do not make it to my aim or expectations, I should be like the Jamaicans, tried their best to get to its finishing point.
Winning is not everything. If you keep on insisting on Winning, you get to lose it one day. If that day arrives, how strong your heart can resist the hard defeat that you are going to face?
You may borrow the DVD at the Esplanade.
