First Full-length Opera Performance In 1992

This was our very first full-length Hokkien opera that we staged in 1992 at Victoria Theatre. We were then a very young troupe starting out from scratch and it was indeed heartwarming to see this show staged. 

Many of us come and go all these years. The then Hokkien Konghuay Opera Troupe became the current Sim Siew Tin Hokkien Opera Troupe. What has not left us is our Passion and Determination to promote Hokkien opera.

A few of us, the ones who participated in the above performance were reminiscing about this show - 'The Tragedy Of the Zither and the Sword". 

- It was our very First Full-length Opera staged

- We love the OS. (background singing)

- We really spent alot of time and effort rehearsing and practising.

- The director was fierce and demanding. (I guess he was quite stressed up as we were a bunch of very new performers with limited opera knowledge and skills.)

After so many years, watching the video clip really brings back so many wonderful memories!

If there is an opportunity, it would be nice to restage this show again!

Honey Lab Sleeping Pack

Currently using this Honey Lab Sleeping Pack as my sleeping mask. It claims that it would seal the essence on your skin at night to soak the moisture and promote firm skin. Not only that, it would remove dead skin cells and brighten up your skin.

It is quite costly though, priced at $76 for a small bottle of 50ml.

Started for almost a week. Spot any difference if you see me. :p

Was looking at its products when I overheard a group of aunties praising this product. They used a mixture of maNara , mediplus n honey lab. This sleeping pack is highly recommended by them n they especially introduced mediplus. The best thing is these 3 brands' pop-up stores were situated side by side.

Eventually I bought the maNara hot cleansing gel and Honey Lab Sleeping Pack. Skipped the mediplus...(very X)

Anyone interested in getting any of these products, the pop-up stores are in basement of Takashimaya. They are having GSS up to tomorrow.

Only used for a week, of course to see the effect, it takes time. One thing for sure, the products make my face clean n bright.

Again... I am not a very good model as I receive feedback like ;
-hey, Amai ... Your skin complexion is not bad...so the difference is not great.

Hmm... Well if u are the lazy sort, these products fit you well cos they are the 1 step to skincare type.

Personally I feel that when it comes to skincare, I do not believe in short cut skincare steps and super fast results. I still keep up to my skincare routine and it does take time to see good results.. At least to me, it is safer to see good results after a period of time.

Again, no woman is considered ugly except being lazy.

Keep your complexion good, you will be good. Any makeup will then help to improve your outlook. I do not makeup only once a while for dinner events or occasionally heavy opera makeup for performances... I prefer 素顏. So much lighter and "freer".

I use a range of products from TST, Naruko, Gulsha, Faceshop, Perliere, 自白肌，Laneige,MKUP, Eucerin, Avene and Belif.

More regular using TST, Perliere and Naruko. Next time will share on the step n brands that I use for my normal skincare routine.

Blog Again

Stumbled upon my old blog's posts. My many interesting posts were so passionate n yet so "outspoken".
These posts recalled back many of my memories, be it,  good or bad.
These posts are so ME!
I shared my sentiments with MK and we kind of miss those days when we blogged and read others' blogs.
CL told us she used to read our blogs and she found interesting to read our happiness and woes. We did not even know CL then.
So my very first blog after MIA for years.

Old Picture 1

As one of the administrator of KH's FB Fanpage "這些年，我們一起學薌劇”, I started to look out for old pictures. The old pictures really brought back wonderful memories.

The picture above was a scene taken from “三鳳求凰”， it is one of my most favorite shows so far. It is also one of my leading shows.

I like the storyline and the character that I played. XW's character is also very cute too. I can't remember  the last time that we acted together on stage. XW is now pretty busy with his job and he hardly has the time to even drop by KH.

This "Brother Cai" role has been taken up by other actresses since then. However I still prefer XW to act this role. Perhaps we had acted together for quite some time compared to the rest.

KH Has A New Fan Page In Facebook

KH has a new fan page in Facebook. We put up old photographs of troupe mates and our objective is to recollect past memories of the KHers and our past activities. Ex-KHers are also welcome to put up their old pictures and share these wonderful memories with us.

Overspent

I went to Taiwan last month for a week. Meeting up friends, watching Tang Meiyun's TW opera and eating Taiwan's yummy snacks in night markets. It was fun though and I get to meet my Taiwan Opera Idol, Ah Kun.

Ah Kun became slimmer and I bet she didn't have enough sleep. She is such a busy person with a very tight schedule. But she made it to my gathering. (^_^)

I overspent I think...I didn't really buy lots of clothes but as usual I bought opera DVDS.

I had a very fun time in Taiwan!

I got this in one of the night markets in Taiwan. The previous Hello Kitty case had been worn out so I needed to get another to replace it.
Blogged during my rehearsal. (LOL). Got to wait for my turn so may as well blog ;)

It Is Friday!

I am so glad that it is Friday!
Mum is back from the hospital from an eye surgery.
I rushed back home after work and is glad to find out that she is fine.

No work for me in the evening, at least not now. (LOL)
I just want to rest!

I have two more upcoming performances and that would mean quite a few rehearsals...
Anyway I am shagged.... Just want to rest and not think about work and opera. (LOL)

Friday evening, time to catch up with my CSI ! Hurray!

我回來了！

I have not blogged for a long time and the Blogger's dashboard has been changed.......

That's me in Taiwan two weeks ago. I really enjoyed myself a great deal. Taiwan is such a beautiful country with good food and lovely people. At least most of my TW friends are lovely.

I miss Taiwan and my heart is yet to return. 

My parents got very disturbed when they watched the TW news. Heavy rain and typhoon were reported to befall on Taiwan. My mum got so upset that she wanted me to go home asap. When I told her that nothing serious really happened during my stay in Taiwan,  she chose not to believe me and even reprimanded me for not telling her the truth.

I gave her the truth and she denied it.

When I was finally back, she still tried to ask me to watch TW news just to prove that she was right. OMG!

Anyway, I am back but my heart has not yet returned.

One week passed and back to reality....Back to work!

I miss 小杜家樓下的甜不辣還有炸香菇。。。實在美味啊！

CNY 2012

CNY is just round the corner but I have no new year mood.

Too busy at work, too busy at home. Busy, busy busy!

I realised that I wasn't the only busy one around. Most of the blogs are not updated except for MK's.

However MK privatized her blog once again.

CNY is coming and yet I am so so busy!

梨園悲喜情

還記得當時和戲曲有關的紀錄片嗎？
也不知為何，放了許久的片子，突然想拿出來看看。當時的阿邁好年輕好有魄力。對劇團對戲曲好有熱忱。
紀錄片里我被稱為e時代的女生，十多年前推動了劇團建立網頁，後來將網頁的設計工作交於旭文。雖自己在網頁方面深感興趣但覺得由旭文來做會更為理想，畢竟這是旭文的傳長之一。
光陰似箭，到如今已過了十多載，進入臉書時代，我們再次協手建立和維持劇團的臉書，真的不容易。
這幾年來，人事已變遷。我們或許走的路和以往有別，但大家對自己喜歡的戲曲還是存有那一份深厚的感情在。
我珍惜這一份薌緣。這份薌情是刻骨銘心的！

I Joined the Mac Family

I finally bought my very first imac!
21" impressive desktop!
I am still very new to imac, still struggling to get used to its functions.
Have been a Window user for so long however my PC keeps dying on me and I really get sick of sending it for repairs.
I gonna send my PC Desktop for repair tomorrow. Of course I won't give up on my old desktop. It is still very dear to me.
As for my imac, I really hurled quite a bit of coco on it and I must ensure that I get adjusted and USE it!
Everything about imac is so so excitingly impressive.
One stupid thing that I did to my imac was I deleted the imovie by mistake. In addition, I even empty the trash...
Hopefully I get my imovie back.....
My colleagues got so excited when they knew I bought an imac and they even congratulated me in joining the Mac Family.
They told me that once I get used to Mac, I surely won't return to Windows...
Wow, really?
Time shall find out.
Next time shall show you pictures of my imac...;)

Bobo Bear Lollipop

My colleague gave me the big lollipop for Children's Day gift. Very sweet of her ;)

Imperial Bloodshed

Am doing the role of the princess once again. So that means I have to slim down for this role again.
I had the first practice last Saturday. We just went through the lyrics and the songs. Gosh I have forgotten almost all and I sounded so "xiaosheng". I really sounded odd and weird , the feel is also strange. I think I need time to get adjust to the princess.
After that, we watched a Yueju opera, the same show that we are going to stage next year. The Yueju is performed by Ningbo Yueju Troupe. The director has made some changes and Madame Dong did not appear in scene one unlike the older versions.
However the changes are reasonable. I like the part that Dong Wen Zhong carried the Princess down the mountain. The actions are great.
Hope that we can watch the 2nd VCD next time. ;)

步步驚心

Recently am watching this show and I find it quite a nice drama.
Ruoxi travelled into the past in Qing Dynasty after she met an accident. Knowing the history of Qing Dynasty, she was very careful dealing with the Fourth Prince as she knew that he would eventually succeed the throne. She fell in love with the Eighth Prince but did not end up with him as the latter refused to give up fighting for the throne.
Ruoxi knew very well that history couldn't be changed and there was no way to reverse the facts. At the most, she could only hint to the Eighth Prince to beware of certain people.
I have not watched the last few episodes and I wonder whether Ruoxi would travel back to current 2011.

A New IPhone App

Just downloaded a blogger app.
Now I can write a blog article using my handphone;)

Long Time No Write

Need to cut the grass here once a while ;

Dug out my old "Bloody Palace" script, realised that I do not have the latest version. Have kept the current one since N years ago.

This show is adapted from Shanghai Yueju. Songs composed by Huang Lin and revamped by ZL.

This show debuted in 1997 - 1998, it was performed in Victoria Theatre.

The latest performance was about two years back in one of the CCs, SG.

I am kind of excited to participate in this show.

I need alot of preparations for this show and I have to start early especially in fitting into the dan costumes.

I shall take it as a challenge.

Old Pictures Mixed Feelings

Was browsing through some old pictures in a thumbdrive.

Saw some familiar faces and they are the ones who used to claim that they were my friends but yet they chose to hurt me in one way or another.

I am calmer now. Though I do feel tinges of sadness, hurt and anger.

Especially to the one who kept saying she was my friend......

No longer shall I value her that much in my heart.

The more weightage you add, the more hurt you suffer.

Time will fade everything.

Maybe one day I will be looking at a total stranger whom no longer affect me an inch.

Life still continue, I have a life to lead.

A more fruitful and happier life to lead should be the way.

Scholl Shoes

I used to think Scholl shoes are "auntie" shoes.

My mum loves this brand.

The designs are very "auntie-like" however recently I bought my 2nd pair of Scholl shoes. This time is high heels.

My work requires me to stand most of the time and I have not been wearing high heels donkey years already. Many shoes that I wore were easily worn out and most of them were not comfortable enough.

I bought my very first pair of shoes about a month ago. I totally love it now because the shoes are really comfy. I also realised that the designs are getting more and more fashionable too.

Last week I got myself a pair of black heels and I have been wearing for two days and I am quite satisfied with them.

Now I rather buy comfy shoes and pay a little bit more than to get cheap, fashionable but hurting shoes instead.

I love Scholl!
